Official Game Thread - Preseason Week 2 - Commander @ Lions

We’ve all heard the cliches. We’ve all heard that you can’t simulate the speed in practice and that you need to get hit to get used to being hit.

I tend to believe it. There’s a difference between classroom learning and practical learning. I think the intersquad practices mitigate that somewhat because it’s good to test yourself against a different set of strengths and weaknesses. Games are still different. Maybe it’s the continuity, the clock, or the score keeping. Maybe it’s the chess match between coordinators and players.

That said, give me a quarter. Give me two series.

You can't get used to the chaos, and have the intensity of "if I don't get rid of the ball, I'm going to get flattened by a 300lb smelly dude" unless you play in games.
Not true. You can get the exact same experience by walking around downtown Seattle or San Francisco for an hour or two on any given day.

Seems quiet on the board for a game day.

Nice way to start for the defense against a backup offense.
