Official Game Thread - NFC CHAMPIONSHIP - Commanders @ Eagles

I don’t think Lattimore is done at 28.

At the same time we simply don’t have ANY potential outside corners on the team to bri g along for next year.

So, it’s either trading more picks or trying to sign a guy that is going to be an overpay.

We can draft a player too but where we are picking that guy is likely not an impact player right away.

Man this is a tough pill to swallow today. I keep getting these waves of disappointment and it sucks. The turnovers just killed us. I hate that we went out the way that we did, to the team that we went out to.

Yah I know the future is bright, but these games don't come around often and I think that is what is stinging so bad this morning. I hope by the end of the day it gets better.

I also hope the Chiefs just destroy the Eagles in the SB.
I have a lot of work that I need to do today and a busy week ahead and all I can focus on is how bad this hurts. I know a lot of folks hate the Cowboys the most, some even the Giants. But for me, at least for the last 15 years or so - I hate the Eagles at least twice as much as any other team.

I have been tormented by these Neanderthals in our own stadium too many times to count. They are the loudest, cockiest group of scumbags ever assembled. I’d sign my next paycheck over to Goodell just to assure they lose in heartbreaking fashion.

Yeah man, while we’re talking about the despicable Philly fans. I was dead wrong when I said earlier in this thread that their reputation was overblown. I guess I haven’t been there in quite a few years because it’s worse than ever. A constant stream of mostly young punks screaming F bombs in your face and then scurrying away like cowards. And I’m a 56 year old dude there with my wife. They are truly an embarrassment, and in my opinion, the lowest form of human life this world has to offer.

Dallas fans are downright comical in their delusions of grandeur, but you can go to their stadium and have a heckuva great time interacting with their fans. It's a good experience. I don't know what's up with those Philly fans.

I was telling my friends after the game that it is a city that needs a culture change. Always been a punk city but it is one that has gotten worse since covid

Latimore wasn't great... but hell, he wasn't the one fumbling the ball. Offense lost this game... they needed a perfect game to beat the Eagles (like in Det) and got nothing close to that. Reality is the Latimore is past his prime but still probably the best outside cover corner on this team. His contract is not guaranteed so you give him one more year to prove his worth... then cut your losses if he doesn't improve.
The true fuck up was trading Ridgeway away.. when we really missed a big boy in the middle of the D line.
Allen - Gone
Payne - he is still good, just not a run blocker. Same for Newton.. but maybe get gets stronger in the off season and produces more.

Lattimore wearing those bright yellow gloves is idiotic. You could see him groping the receivers because the bright yellow stood out on the dark green Eagles.
Great point. I am appointing you pledge representative to the social committee to be the fashion consultant for the team next year.

Maybe the yellow gloves would have made the officials less likely to call him for strangling AJ Brown next time. Think its a flag someone threw so they dont bother tossing theirs. I am still miffed how AJ Brown got off of that one Jake Scott free after ripping Lattimore's helmet off. It did tempt Philly to go for 2 which FAILED lol. Like a missed XP.. come back to haunt them... if we didnt fumble the game away. Gotta love Lattimore's passion though - if he gets called for a PI he is ready to rumble.

I like passion when a player is good and he knows it. DeAngelo Hall skirted the lines for it, but in the early 2010s, when he was on, he was ON. Lattimore didn't do enough here for me to appreciate him jawing it up with players who beat him like a drum. I don't know enough about his past to say whether he earned it with the Saints, but the only highlight I can remember is one game where his name didn't get called while he was on the field.

All that said, he's better than St. Juste and Davis, so there's nothing to be done about it. Lattimore will be Lattimore, and that's the best the team could manage in the middle of the season and possibly for this offseason too.

Agreed NickyJ

I’m all for playing with passion, but his blowups seems more out of frustration with being embarrassed for getting worked.

But at the end of the day, we just have to hope he plays better than what he shown because beggars can’t be choosers.

I mean, he's in his 10th NFL season. What DB's best days aren't behind him after a decade of play? I think that's correct but they knew that making the deal. The alternative was to keep putting St. Juste on league-leading receivers. We think it was ugly at times with Lattimore out there...
Actually he just completed his 8th season (2017-2024) and is 28. He is still in his prime so I don't see age or wear and tear as the issue. He just played poorly for whatever reason but they will roll him out again and see if he reverts to the player he was in NO. We better hope so.

Adam Peters pretty much put any Lattimore speculation to rest in the end of season presser.

I didn't see the presser but what speculation exists? People actually thought they were going to move on from Marshon Lattimore?????

ML trying for the dual ejection was a fair stunt to try. Only the refs didn't bite. But him being the only one called reeked of a reputation call which does not bode well for the future. He will get no breaks from the refs. AJ's current rep is as a goodie 2 shoes reading philosophy on the sideline... quite the contrast to Latts. It had no bearing on the game but that was dual missed ULC IMO heh maybe it was a payback for Dyami getting a free punch on their DB previously and him ejected.

1 play. 2 facemasks. 0 flags.

Thanks for catching that, I was counting teams he’d played for in the same season…

Age and wear and tear is always something to look at, especially when he hasn’t been able to stay on the field for 3 straight seasons. I still think he could pan out for us at least for a couple of seasons.

I don’t necessarily mind the swing but what I’ve seen so far, in several ways, doesn’t add up to 18.5 per over the next 2 seasons.

Beyond my (not minor) injury and availability concerns, he doesn’t outwardly exhibit the same ‘makeup’ as the other players seem to. I don’t discount the acclimation aspects that Peters spoke to but I do have questions in that regard. Ultimately I trust though that AP & DQ are seriously protective of that so I am willing defer to their judgement.

I think seeing him lose his cool multiple times is a bit of a red flag. Remains to be seen if that is who he is or just a couple bad moments from someone who is uber-competitive.

I do admit to having Josh Norman vibes from this guy. His battles with OBJ were so annoying and took away from the game. Lattimore has been playing for a losing team, by all accounts he is a very physical corner. I have no idea why he played the say he did but I can't believe it is motivation.
