Official Game Thread - NFC CHAMPIONSHIP - Commanders @ Eagles

And of course the idea that a TD can be "awarded" if a defense has the audacity to attempt to defend a philly ass-grab.

biadasz got that recovery
Pretty funny - in high school, we had a play where the coach had guys dive into the mass like there had been a fumble; refs gave us the ball a couple times, though there had never been one.

Only time we've lost this season is when we've stepped on our own peckers.... so here we are. Amazing season, and lots to build on
We stepped on our peckers, slammed them in a door repeatedly and put them in a vise before allowing Hochuli to pull an Elena Bobbitt on us.

Yeah, I said it a few weeks ago and told someone before the game. It’s all about what this team does. It doesn’t matter what the other team does if this team plays well. The turnovers were killer. And the Eagles made them pay for every single one. You can’t do that and win. It’s a shame, but I’ll take this over every other season the past 33 years.

There were so many bad calls/no calls, but can't forget the uncalled facemask on the third down "sack" of Daniels.
The crew 'let them play' when it came to the eagles holding on every play, but not so much with lattimore's grabby hands and Luvu trying to stop a cheesed up scrum play.

Eh. At least the GM/Coaching is relatively solid...but the refs don't seem any better than during ***skin era.

I wonder how much it'd take to sign Sean Hoculi as a free agent? Do we have the SPACE?

Once again… when the going gets tough… Brian Robinson no shows.

I like the kid… but he can’t be back next year.

He's apparently a leader in the locker room, but he has no juice in his legs. We really need some speed at RB. Luckily, this draft is loaded at RB. Right now, I'd devote our picks to line (one of each) and RB in the first three rounds.

Way too many things went wrong today. Our defense failed us. Our ball security failed us. It felt like we had a let down on every third down.

Maybe this was our lack of talent finally catching up to us. Maybe we just were off. All I know is it sucks. We lost this game. We were the reason we lost. But for the sake of fairness, fuck the refs. The Eagles didn't need their help. They won it without the refs help, but the refs helped anyway.

Especially since it wasn't even a turnover. Hochuli made the call of "First down Eagles!!!!" immediately after the play and without even seeing the replay.

It was unfortunately. If he had been touched down before rolling to his feet, it would have been a clean catch. So he wasn’t still in the process when he got up imo. Instead he rolled to his feet and suffered an extremely clean punch out after half a step. Definite turnover on replay imo

Yeah, I think the Eagles have vastly superior talent. It was almost insurmountable. Hoculi Mk2 making it a blowout is what is rage inducing.

That was an embarrassing game. We came out flat on defense, flat on offense, turned the ball over 3 times. There are only so many times that we can count on luck or JD heroics to overcome the lack of talent. Eventually it caught up to us.

Either way, we've been playing with house money for a couple of weeks now, so I can't be too terribly mad about the way the season went. Hopefully the glaring holes we have can at least be somewhat addressed this offseason.

There was a time where they would have let them fight for the ball on a fumble like that, and biadish would have recovered it.

They just blew it dead immediately and gave the Eagles the ball. That was my gripe, not that it was a fumble.

Hocculi should be perma-banned from officiating Washington games. He's never called a neutral game once.
