Official Game Thread - NFC CHAMPIONSHIP - Commanders @ Eagles

Barkley is going to get his, which in a way is strangely comforting. The gameplan will not be predicated on shutting him down.
Also, dont forget that his production over the last 3 quarters in his last game against Washington was minimal.

JD lost his first game to Tampa. Stored that info and experience. Came back and beat them second time round.

JD lost his first game to Philly. Stored that info and experience. Came back and beat them second time around.

What will he do with 2 games knowledge and experience against a foe under his belt?

Same with our coaching staff.

Lost our first game against Dallas. Stored that info and experience.came back and beat them second time around with Mariota.

We got this.

Let loose the dogs of war" is a phrase meaning to unleash a violent and destructive force, essentially starting a war; it originates from Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar" where the character Mark Antony says, "Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war," signifying the unleashing of chaos and aggression.

It looks like Eagles are early 4.5 point favorites.

That seems about right. Home field advantage + the are the higher seed.

But it’s much closer than the 9 points Detroit was favored by.

If it comes out Hurts is limited in practice, I expect that line to tighten up a bit.

Well, the Eagles had some issues against the Rams so I didn’t think you would see a large initial point spread for the game next week.

The Rams hurry up offense almost pulled that game out.

If Stafford had Daniels mobility LA likely would have won.

Matt at 37 is a bit of a statue in the pocket.

I wanted the eagles. Fuck them and their fans. You want us to own the NFCE? Beat them all solidly. DOMINATE. Put Dallas NY and Philly on notice. Very much a statement game for us. We are still playing with house money. You want a fight? Not with us, because we will punch you in the mouth and beat your asses.

HAIL!

I am so tired of Jalen Hurts in NFC Championship games. Let's be real, there are 3 elite QB's remaining in the playoffs and then there is Midlen Hurts. Guy is the stereotypical Boss in a movie that is protected by the gigantic henchmen protecting him at all times. Dude shows up to his post game pressers with his 170 passing yards like he just went out there at redefined the QB position. The day is coming when he won't be dragged across finish lines by the roster around him, hopefully sooner than later.

As far as this game. I am hoping the weather is clear. Cold frigid temps are likely inevitable, but the snow was definitely impacting Stafford, who I still consider elite from the pocket, and I'm already assuming if the weather is anything like it was today it will cause a stupid turnover or two, or missed plays from players slipping etc etc......

Eagles are favored and I understand why, but it would be silly for anyone to think the Commanders don't have a legitimate chance to win this game!

I assume/hope that no one is considering going to Philly for the game?

Given how Eagles fans have behaved historically and as widely reported from the Packers game, I would strongly encourage you to reconsider.

I expect the intensity of this game will be enormous and a huge blessing that it's at 3 pm instead of a night game like this week.

The stands will be messy if experience is any guide.

Totally agree with your Hurts take, I too think he is grossly overrated and has benefitted a lot from the team around him. However - many players absolutely do, and none more than the QB since they typically get an outsized share of credit and blame. I would probably give Jayden and the famed actor P Maholmes some extra nods on this one though, they do a bit more with less at times, and in particular our guy. His OL and his scheme heavily rely on him and he truly delivered the goods as a rookie.

Also totally agree with your weather description. I don't think our offensive philosophy will marry well with snow. I would worry a bit about cold even, but snow - I imagine it would create huge problems for us offensively, while theirs would probably be able to still do OK with it.
