Official Game Thread - Eagles @ Commanders

Tell Rivera to fold the franchise and sell ice cream.

Avatar was re-released, and opted for a noon show time today. Looks like I made the right choice LOL

In their third year, they shouldn't be awful. They are awful except for flashes.

Okay, to be fair, they weren't in awful in Jacksonville, but they were awful in the first half against Detroit and arguably in the second once the game got close. Today, they were awful throughout (Okay, the defense was not actually awful and Gibson was hustling), but the team was awful.

In most cases,if you are a competent team,Year 3 should be the year you take off. League norms have never applied here though.

It's been 30 years since this club was legit, respected and feared.

Last year,I posted a clip of our last NFC Championship win where late in the game,John Madden was going on and on as to why this franchise was so great. Boone replied : Those days are never coming back.

That hurt, didn't quite yet want to believe it but now I know he's right.......

Not defending Wentz here, but when a QB get banged around as much as he has, that QB is going to make bad decisions and bad throws. Wentz ain’t The Answer, but this is on the line and the coaches for a dreadful offensive game plan.

The offensive line played poorly, but at least half of those sacks are Wentz's fault. He simply holds onto the ball too long. That has been a big knock on him for the past 2 - 3 years, which is why Washington never should have wasted $30 million on him.

I saw this disaster coming a mile away. Rivera has no business being a GM. He wouldn't recognize a quality QB if Joe Montana pissed on his head.

Fire Turner and del Rio
Warn Rivera

We can't get any worse

Wentz's career as a starting QB is over. If Rivera wants to save this season from total disaster, he needs to replace Wentz with Heinicke immediately.

Wentz holds onto the ball too long and his accuracy is well below average. He simply cannot remain the starting QB. In fact, I don't think he will still be in the NFL two years from now. He is THAT bad.

He'll get a token number games to "justify" his $32 Million salary this year.
But hopefully just enough that it doesn't cost us yet another 3rd round pick next year.

I think Wentz is locked in precisely so we give Indy another gift in that draft pick.

He's not coming out unless injury.

I don't blame Wentz, I blame the coaches. They are not calling good game plans or adjusting as needed.

It's the same shit week in and out that doesn't work.

anyone blaming Wentz at this point has an agenda

Scott Turner is setting him up to fail. Is Wentz perfect? Not even close. Are his coaches doing what's necessary to win? Nope... not that either. I'd argue that NOBODY could win in this system as it's currently been called...

Nothing like some uniform news on a Sunday night after an embarrassing game.

this is how an offense should work.. playcall comes in, but if there is a better play on the field... you run it.

we're seriously going to see our black jerseys before we see our burgundy ones? that's a thing.. that is gonna happen

Nope. It's obvious to any knowledgeable fan that Wentz is finished as a starting QB in this league. He simply holds onto the ball too long. That has always been his problem, that's why the Eagles and Colts happily got rid of him. And it's why he has more fumbles than any QB over the past several years.

Wentz will be lucky to still be in the NFL next season. He is THAT bad. His confidence is gone and he is completely lost. I actually feel sorry for him.

Forget about winning....we're not even competitive. And we won't be as long as Wentz remains the QB.

If Wentz was smart about making a point that his coaches are setting up to fail, then he should be chucking the ball out of bounds when the pressure is imminent instead of holding on for a tick too long and then getting sacked, which he has been doing for the past few years.

At the half, Wentz had half as many completions, as sacks allowed. (three vs six)
And by the 3rd quarter, just one of their receivers, all by himself, had 3 times as much total yards, as our whole offense.
And at that point we actually had negative passing yards.
Defense isn't the primary problem, or even close.
