I have introduced myself in other threads but may as well do it officially here. Another ES refugee who is happy to have found this place. I have always had a pic of my current dog(s) as my avatar. Glad to see we have this feature here so I can use this pic of Nikki as she enjoyed her first snowfall.

Our ad revenue is pretty minimal. We appreciate the thought but I don’t think it would have a significant impact. We would probably get rid of ads entirely except that we like to have some ‘extras’ to award folks who donate and get premium membership, one being an ad-free experience.
I'm not in the message board business. If you don't mind me asking where do you get your funding?

We used to have a 3 man ownership group and we largely financed the site. We’ve gone to a shared ownership model (if you look in the ‘About Us’ section you can see a group of us who contribute monthly to pay for the site). Many of our members make occasional donations.
