Yeah, but the thing is, Kyle forgot to turn on my headset so I couldn't hear the playcalls on Sunday, and my input coudlnt' be given. :(

If everything had been working, I would have told him he's an idiot for thinking about calling that play, and told him my opinion was to run something different.
 
How come the only plays we complain about are the ones that don't work?

Morris gains 15 on the pitch play and Kyle's a genius.

This is exactly what my thoughts are on it too. You guys can say it's easy to complain about the call knowing the outcome, but it really isn't. Whether it worked or not, it's the wrong call to make in your own endzone, 100% of the time.

The outcome we got is always a possibility, the back dropping it and the other team diving on it for an instant TD is a possibility, the back missing the pitch out of the back of the endzone for a safety is a possibility, not making it out of the endzone is a possibility. It's a play in that part of the field that you should never run, because the potential of a few yards isn't worth the massive pile of risks.

To me, it's one of the riskiest possible plays in that situation, and a reverse is the only play you can run down there that would have been a stupider call. Hindsight or not. A 20 yard gain maybe? It still would have been a **** call that just happened to pan out.

Well, I just can't help myself. Do me a favor. Look at what the defense was in and what our offensive formation was. Then tell me how bad the play call was. Remember, a toss play is never a bad call when numbers are in your favor. Is there a chance you could fumble? Yes. As in every play. The same fear folks have when you are in shot gun in your endzone. The fear of calling a play because it doesn't seem right or we're not in the right spot on the filed are things that defensive coords hope OCs are thinking. It makes their lives alot easier and allows them to be awfully aggressive. It sucks that it didn't work...just like the other plays that sucked during the first half. Not a poor play call, just poor execution. Welcome to every play that doesn't work.
 
Nobody said it was a stupid play call.

(Damn, but it's just so much fun to play around with that screen name.)

YEP! The best calls are the ones that go for touchdowns. I don't know why Kyle doesn't call those more often...would make this football thing a whole lot easier!

I dont bother with extremeskins.

I was being facetious. of course plays look worse when they dont work, lol

I think part of our problem is that we take chances at odd times and more often than not, those chances dont work.

On Offence we simply dont have a good Oline, we look better than we are simply because the zone scheme works around Olinemen, it would be really great if we had better Olinemen. and by better I mean stronger and who can actually pass block without being driven straight backwards on every pass and move their feet.

On Defence its really damn simple, line up and play simple football, just attack on every down from a different spot, put your best rushers in their best positions and dont try to outwit everyone all the time. you can miz up coverages without trying to disguise them on every play.

If you are 'rational' after the pathetic display we saw Monday night, you're a better man than most of us
 
A wake-up call early in the season might be a blessing in disguise long-term.

For me, the key to this season was all about managing expectations, something we did poorly on Monday.

The fact of the matter is that this team isn't good enough yet to play less than four quarters and still get away with stealing victories.

At the same time, the fact that Monday's loss to the Eagles has led even more people in outer circles to write us off will be better for this team going forward. Character is one thing they certainly got going for them and there is too much pride in that locker room to roll over and play dead.
