The NFL on Friday announced a release date for the 2026 NFL schedule. ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the date.
It took awhile for the NFL to land on a specific date to announce its full slate of games for the 2026 season. There were multiple rumors about the day being pushed back as far as May 20, but now it'll fall on the same date it did a year ago.
Here is everything we know about the release and what it means for the San Francisco 49ers:
The NFL announced the schedule will be released on May 14, 2026. The 2025 schedule was also released on May 14.
The 49ers open the 2026 slate on Thursday, September 10 with a game vs. the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia. Kickoff is set for 5:35pm Pacific time.
There's no opponent or date set yet for the 49ers' second international game of the year. That game will take place in Week 11, but it's unclear if that will be Sunday, November 22 or Monday, November 23.
