I’ll first acknowledge that AJ Brown is indeed a monster, but Lattimore’s performance was still disappointing. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and I hope that a greater sample size proves he’s a great addition to the team. The Brown TD seemed like a particularly poor effort. It was evident to me that the Eagles thought he was a weak link and intended to expose that (and they did). Some safety help could go a long way.

I expect RB and DB to be a top priority in the draft. Brob getting stopped on the first down early seemed like a weak effort, and the first fumble was very frustrating. I didn’t need to see him still in the game to fumble a second time. He’s not ever going to a great RB and I think he’s worn down at this point in the season. I hope they let him rest up over the next couple weeks and give CRod more playing time.

Someday I hope we have the luxury of watching a player like Saquan at our RB position. I too would be very embarrassed to be gifted 5 turnovers and still lose with that roster.

The Brown TD was cover 2 with Lattimore in outside shade to funnel to the safety and LB. Wagner was the curl defender and responsible for the slant. It was a risky goal line play call that didn’t pay off, but that TD was not in Lattimore - that’s not how cover 2 works.

So we all know the Hail Mary will go down as the play of the season, however, I feel that Sundays 4th quarter comeback is the drive that has fully 100% no hold barred, sold me on JD5. He was exciting to watch all season so far, but that last drive Sunday just shows what we really have. Dare I say he may very well develop into a generational talent (develop into not fully there yet). The poise that he brings cannot be over looked. A great player makes everyone around them look better.

One last thing about Sundays game. Our guys finally have HEART and absolutely zero quit. Any other Washington team would have folded after the 3rd turn over much less come back after giving up 5. I have to wonder how much of our turn around lies strictly on the shoulders of numbers 4,5, and 6.

Our culture is Damn Good.

In some ways, the Eagles' game feels more impossible than the Bears. With the Bears, we were leading for 58 minutes and they almost stole it then we executed a miracle play. Against Philly, we started off as bad as we could and spotted them points and gifted them five turnovers yet somehow in the last seconds stole the game. I don't know the exact timing, but I doubt we led that game for more than five minutes. We only led after that one point lead and for those six seconds after Crowder's TD.

Funny side note, I was driving back from Vermont yesterday and stopped in a rest area for lunch in New York, with a Commanders hoodie and hat on--I was a big goddmaned billboard for that win. Two different people congratulated me for kicking the Eagles ass. In New York.

My wife works in brattleboro I live 15 minutes from Vermont and know the state quite well.

philly fans can kiss my ass. they can cope all they want. we probably knocked them out of the #1 seed. they will remember the game "that didn't matter" when they get knocked out in the wild card round because they didn't have a bye or they lose to the #1 seed, wishing they had homefield advantage.

The Eagles seemed almost bewildered when our team fought back after they dominated in the 1st and 3rd quarters. Not something we've been known for in recent years. before Dan Quinn. I don't think that will be the case in the playoffs. We will have to play well for 60 minutes.

I liked the Crowder signing, at least we knew he was a viable NFL recevier and I didn't understand why he was not playing. I do think fans are overreacting a bit to McCaffery. Yes he was very effective in returns, he can pick the hole well but I suspect most of that was the blocking. He does not have the twitch or burst to be much of a returner IMO and his ability as a WR is still in question. I just have to believe if this team is really competing for a title the receivers in the rotation will be better than Luke will ever be. But of course I could be wrong.

That's fair but that was in October and they had already played several games where he was not involved, or even active if I recall. Wasn't he eligile to return from the IR sooner than he was activated?

He played game 1 and 3, was out game 4 with his calf injury, then put on IR shortly after. His 21 day window opened around the bye week and they then activated him against NO.

My take - early on, he had Terry, both Browns, and OZ ahead of him, and then it made more sense for the team to have McCaffrey (young guy w/ potential) ahead of him, even if Crowder is/was a better receiving option.

On a related note, I find it interesting how much Kliff rotates/makes use of 5 different receivers in-game.

It felt like they were trying to include Luke in the game plan more at the beginning of the year then he dropped off. He had 10 of his 18 receptions in the first 5 weeks.

I just feel like JD doesn’t trust Luke’s routes or his angles back to the ball. He needs to get more consistent on his depths and angles.

JD just needs to dump the ball off to Luke and let him do the rest. DQ needs to get the ball in his hands. As we see, he makes things happen w/KO returns!
