Yeah, I don't know what's going on with Brian Robinson Jr., to me it looks like he is hesitating. When he is effective, it's because he isn't *thinking* he is just taking the handoff and exploding into a gap. He is not quick or slippery enough to patiently look for a hole to open up in front of him - it's just not his skillset and I don't think he has the vision to make good decisions when he tries to do that. Last night, after a terrible performance vs. the Eagles, you'd expect him to bounce back. Instead, we got a very ineffective and tentative performance. Maybe that's unfair, because Atlanta's defense was very stout last night, particularly against the run. But he just isn't getting it done.

On the other hand, when they've gotten opportunities, CRod and McNichols have made significant contributions. I think we need to give those two more opportunities the rest of the way. Whatever is going on with BRob, he doesn't seem to be working his way out of it. I think sometimes Kliff Kingsbury is a little stubborn in trying to be determined to get guys into the game. I got tired last night of us continuing to force balls to Terry McClaurin when it was obvious that he could not get open with Terrell on him. Kingsbury seemed to have the same approach with BRob. Sometimes, it's just not a guys night or his skill set doesn't match up well with an opponent. I think Kingsbury needs to do a better job of changing up the plan when that becomes apparent. He's very slow to give other guys opportunities.

This season has officially entered third place on my fun-o-meter behind the '91 skins and the '18 Caps. I was too young to understand how rare success is during the '87 season and I was 5 in '82.

RGIII rookie season was a blast, but the late season injury + ensuing fiasco has ruined it in my memory.
 
If I had to guess about what's going on with BRob this year I'd put it down to two things:

1) Nagging injuries are just limiting him and he needs to be right to be a power back.
2) He's trying to get to the next level and being overcoached to think through his reads and be more patient. BRob needs a KISS running approach. Run hard, cut once, bulldoze over people. He just doesn't have the niftiness to become an elite back and I think in trying to become one he's losing the best part of his game.
 
I was 11 years old in '91. (Ironically my daughter is 11). Crazy I had to wait until now for this many wins!

-Kudos to Allegreti making the oline calls/checks once Badass went out
-Good coaching move in 2nd half using Payne and Holmes at DE end to stifle the running attack

I wonder how much the wind played into that. From what I remember, he took the one deep shot and that was it. I wonder if the coaches wanted him to just keep it short and not try to make throws where the wind could affect it. I don’t know that, but I did wonder that during the fame.
 
What we have done on 4th down in 2024 is unreal. And I'll say this - even knowing what you have in JD and how difficult he is to stop, Quinn is ballsy as hell going for it as often as he does, often times in situations where, should you fail to get it, you've really put yourself in a bad spot.

He is a pretty fearless coach.

And, for this current year, that needs to be the formula for success. Run everything through Jayden and hope for the best in a shootout. The defense has huge holes and the offense has Terry and a bunch of backups. They won't win many defensive slugfests...they will need to win these types of wild games or they will fall short.

Do we have any insights into Terry's ineffectiveness last night? Barely targeted early on, but then had the dropsies/misses when they did try to get him involved.
 
I used to like Chris Collingsworth. But lately he gets a man crush on a player such as Patrick Mahomes and it dominates the telecast. Last night it was Jayden and even I felt it was annoying. I kept imaging an Atlanta fan as he was going off on Daniels while their team was up 17-7. They barely gave that Atlanta defense any credit for holding this offense to 7 first half points.

Really? I thought he was gushing more about Penix. He was trying his hardest to make it look like Penix was a phenom.
 
something is wrong with BROB for sure . . . maybe he should get checked for cataracts as his vision seems to be gone. multiple holes opened up in front of him that he cut the opposite direction from yesterday. just not good vision, and unless he has a vision impairment that is in his head, not physical!!!

So this is the first 11 win season I've seen.

I do sometimes wonder if the RPO is detrimental to BRob since it sorta slows him down. He needs to get a head of steam and it's hard to do that while waiting for the QB to choose whether he's gonna pull it and run or leave it in his chest. It's quick, but I do wonder if that half-second of delay makes it tougher, and obviously you can't have him just get a handoff from an under center QB running back while he's lined up 5 yards back to get that head of steam, QB has to keep eyes downfield to make sure they can make the right call.

An under the radar play was the stretch McNichols made on that 4th down play, sure looked like he would be stopped short. McNichols and Rodriguez being as productive as they have been just shows how easy it is to find players like McNichols and Rodriguez. I would not offer Brian Robinson another contract. Been saying it for years, he is fine but we can do better.

I noted against the Eagles he kept running into the backs of blockers, last night I have no idea how he ended up with a 4.6 YPC with a long of 12 yards. Seems like he was stuffed all night and I was really glad they went away from a Robinson run up the middle on first downs in the 2nd half.
 
Great to see Allegretti receiving kudos, he really showed up last night plus stepped up with the Badass injury.

The idea of checking in on the Jets regarding Wilson is a very good idea, he'd be a sweet add even if he isn't...tall
