IMO, Commanders isn't terrible, IMO, it's just nowhere near as perfect as Redskins was.

It's not great, that's for sure. But it's not terrible.

That's cool - I'm actually glad some don't hate it. But I think you are likely a very small minority. The hate for it will fade with time, it is human nature.

Probably right too. One thing we should all be able to agree on, the deed is done. Get busy living or get busy dying - there is nothing to be gained by denying reality. Best we can hope for is they build around the shit name and make it more visually and brand appealing to the extent that is possible.

Totally agree … I’m no fan of the name but if this team could be more like 2 years ago and be a winner on the field more then being a loser year in and year out the name will fade away over time and won’t even be a concern… at least that’s my hope

In addition to being easily obtainable, Commanders was a “safe” choice…which I think is a large part of why it is not going anywhere also. The people that hate it just don’t like it…but it’s about as far as you can get from any rational criticism on its face.

At least nobody is out protesting it, or asking the players and coaches after a tough loss (or less commonly a big win) about when are they going to change it, or what do you think about it, etc. etc. I have said it before and I will say it again…I don’t miss any of that crap. Not another NFL team has had to put up with that kind of stuff. No way it did not affect morale or distract in the locker room.

Outside of being a name on no fan's list I ever heard, it is 3 syllables which is rarely going work for most team names because it is natural to refer to them in a shortened affectionate way. You likely end up with weird shortenings with 3 syllable names

Add that on the fact that Commanders gets you Commies (A generally unpopular political philosophy) or 'ders (the sound an imbecile allegedly makes) and you realize how poorly thought out the name was - especially with straight lying to the fans about their level of input. The final act of incompetence by the most incompetent owner in the history of the NFL. I still can't believe that guy made his money to buy my beloved franchise via anything but pure luck.

I agree with this sentiment. Not terrible. Not the name I would have picked, but there are absolutely worse names than Commanders. There is potential here for something very cool with the Greco-Roman influence and the team moving back to the City.

I have to admit, I really like that look. I think I would actually prefer this to the so-called Super Bowl era unis. Blasphemy, I know. But I am all for moving forward since we are stuck with this name. Nobody loved the 80s as much as I did, but I’m not still sporting a mullet just because we won some titles back then.

I think everybody is open to some changes as long as they like the changes lol. Having the old uniforms be the mainstays will ground the franchise in its visual heritage. The alt and the black one provide room for experimentation. Once the new ones are fully revealed it will be telling which ones are the biggest sellers. Nearly every variation I have seen of the black uni I like better than the day one launch. I also would love a variation of the 70th for the alternate.

Sounds probable we will have four, like last year. The new alt is hopefully the 70th variation with a spear helmet. I think the black is too popular with the young ones to eliminate it entirely. They just need to execute it better.

Up to 2022, you were right on the black uniforms. We are now heading into our 5th season with a black variation. Hard to believe, but it’s been that long already.

Another good thing about going back to the classic uniforms is that it won’t feel out of place anymore seeing a Monk or Riggins jersey next to a Daniels or McLaurin jersey.

Hard to tell exactly what color those helmets on the shelves are. At first sight, I would say they are just black helmets.

As for the ( gloss ) burgundy helmets in the foreground, I think they look like the burgundy helmets we used up through 2021, but regardless, it looks like the matte finish is gone and thats the perfect shade of burgundy.
