How do you feel about the Commanders Brand 2.0?

  • Vastly improved, if this is THE brand moving forward I’m satisfied.

One of my biggest fears going down this road is that if they did try to use it again the bullshit starts again. Like I said I don’t want this issue to be a back and forth for all time based on warring political/social factions. I was tired of seeing op-eds in the USA Today and others about the name and imagery every year.

I was just done with all that and I don’t want to see it return. No other fanbase has had to put up with this shit…it literally saps the joy out of why you are a fan to start with.

I think a lot of the bullshit was because the team was owned by Dan Snyder. He was and still is one of the most miserable excuses for a human being on the planet, and I think people looked for ways to shank him. The only thing that should matter is that the tribes want the name back, and hopefully the incremental change back to normal is going to lead there.

I think there's at least some truth to that, but I was really just talking about the logo.
 
I know one thing, and I already warned my wife. If she sees me in the backyard burning my underwear, pants, socks and shoes during a game this season, it means the team walked up to the line in those throwbacks and JD5 started into YELLOOOOOWWWW THIRTYYYY.

The thing is this has never been about “what most people” think. If that was the case they would never have changed to start with. With the right spark the whole thing becomes front page news again.

I don’t want my team to be a part of it any longer. Using the old logo again on a throwback could invite that spark.

I’ve said my bit…I’m done with this part of the conversation. What is going to be is going to be.
 
I think there are a lot of 'reasons' the outrage was geared to us and not other organizations.

I think there was more outrage around the name, so the logo became a part of the fuel to fight it. It was used as another layer of evidence, even if it was arguably illegitimate. I have a feeling that if we were Warriors, and always had been, there would be zero issue with the logo.

I also think there was a genuine issue with the product it was representing. Snyder was a scumbag, the team largely sucked for decades, and every time you turned around the logo was on the news for something negative. From filing lawsuits against season ticket holders and elderly women, to Florio and the national media CONSTANTLY talking about all the drama. The logo was not associated with hardly anything to be 'proud' of both on and off the field.

I still come back to the league viewing the easiest way to get Snyder out was to wash out as much of his 'beloved franchise' that he grew up rooting for and had owned for 25 years. I think Rivera, Wright, and others, were planted by the NFL to execute this thing to get him out. That's why there was a push to 'get away from all Native imagery.'
 
I would think that discussion of returning to Redskins can be effectively tabled until at least the next offseason, along with any prospective usage of the helmet logo. Opinions have been very well established now and everyone knows exactly how and where each other stands.

For the near future the issue is a dead one and any further thoughts have about as big of a chance of changing minds as discussions revolving religion or politics. A fat one.

How many days until training camp begins?
 
I do agree that our old Indian head logo would cause more trouble along the lines of several posts, it may stir the bees.
Will they be attacked and ridiculed back and forth again?
We don’t need any bs distraction and controversy… we’ve dealt with enough.

When I moved to San Antonio I was absolutely shocked to drive by this high school to see a big “skins” logo banner. I thought it was awesome, especially down in cowboys territory, but how do they not catch racist grief?
They’re even call the Indians 😮
I know it’s not NFL or even college but still…
Maybe there’s a way around that though 🤔, unsure. Do we want that debate again?

We may all agree that if dipshit would’ve had a better vision and an actual plan when the shit hit the fan, our logo would’ve stood.

I love the old logo but I feel the ship has far sailed, maybe there’s something up their sleeve and we’ll see it come back someday.
I still wear my old redskins gear, as many of us still do.
I have very little commanders things but coming around to get more. Still holding onto a gift card from Christmas to see what new stuff they come out with lol.

Winning has made rooting for the team much easier but the name still sucks.

“W” is dumb… kinda getting used to it though but still would like to see something different on the helmet.
For some odd reason I thought the spear may have actually been a part of the throwback 😅 😕

Digging the updated unis and excited to see what may come next.

What time is kickoff? 😂
