Please get rid of the dots on the white jerseys.
Excellent post…. Very well thought out and totally agree with all the sentiments. I’ve accepted that the name isn’t going anywhere, and to a slight degree it almost feels like this is a expension team, so under that scenario the Commanders should (as you stated) embody more and given more attention to that name around the DC area…and incorporate it more and better and your ideas are great 👍🏻Not much to like. Hate the uniforms and how bland everything is. "Take Command"?? Clip art W? That's the amateur hour output of Jason Wright and crew. Moving on...
Lean into military theme, hard. Establish an identity fans can play on and embrace given time
Roll with the "Commander tag" and play into that. Dog tags strong tie into military theme. Makes sense.
Change helmet logo to circle, place W inside, and add dog tags hanging off chain to left. Create a silhouette similar to Wetzel Redskins logo.
Revert primary uniforms to Gibbs era. They were near perfection. Retain the suddenly popular black alternate but modify to incorporate military elements. Maybe some black camo pattern. Maybe some golden dog tags hanging around neckline.
Create marketing content that reinforces military theme. Commanders are military leaders and that is pretty blah by itself but the Commander Tags can be ours.
Commander Tag merch - easy. Commander Tag icon is a simple graphic that can be used in many formats and reinforces the military theme.
Players earn Commanders tags in practice, preparation, and professional excellence.
Front office assigns Commanders tag potential on players that fit our identity.
We arrive violently, lay waste to our opponents, and snatch tags in victory. Etc etc
I accept that the Commander way has been embraced inside the building. But creating a theme around the Commanders brand is important for getting the fans to embrace it. Holding out hope the org can figure it out.
You know, this isn't terrible.Change helmet logo to circle, place W inside, and add dog tags hanging off chain to left. Create a silhouette similar to Wetzel Redskins logo.

On board with all of this. Especially the logo and making at least harken back in physical symmetry to the unrivaled and unparalleled Wetzel Logo. 🔥Not much to like. Hate the uniforms and how bland everything is. "Take Command"?? Clip art W? That's the amateur hour output of Jason Wright and crew. Moving on...

I get that...I like the W, and if you put it in a circle, either the W becomes too small, or the circle gets too big. And no one wants a repeat of those giant Buccaneers logos they had during the Jameis Winston era...Yeah. Not a fan of the name, definitely not a fan of the uniforms, but I like the W and don’t want it encircled.
Some of the stuff fans clamor for is godawful.

I completely agree.
I know people don't like it, and I know it will never rival our old look, which was arguably the best in the NFL...but I personally can't help but feel like the current bold burgundy jerseys and gold pants really do pop on a sunny fall Sunday afternoon. As does the matte helmet. So if they keep this look, I'm able to admit that I am totally fine with it.
(The road & black uniforms are a whole other discussion, of course)
Dude, I love my Hokas! lolThose are the same fans that wear HOKAs in public. Not all of us can be trusted with fashion decisions.
