I sometimes wonder if guys that feel like Tom does have visited the stadium since new ownership took over. Snyder’s toilet bowl is now electric. The fan base hasn’t been this alive in decades.

It’s a loud and vocal few that can’t get over the name and branding.

I think it's fair to say there as as many great memories, if not more, last year alone than Snyder's entire tenure. There's certainly more hope. Maybe I am just wanting to move forward than rather constantly looking back.

Maybe this will allow you a mental loophole, to associate them with the SB teams and not the Snyder years:

One other note, I think some of the reactions from yesterday illustrate both why Harris chose not to scrap the name Commanders and why he could have. Largely, the throwbacks were met with approval and appreciation, but those still upset by the name change found it just one more reason to get upset all over again. For them, nothing will likely satisfy. No new name will be universally embraced. Heck, at this point, even going back to Redskins wouldn't be universally embraced as some fans old and young either bought into the propaganda or have no positive memories to associate with the name.

I would bet that polling on the uniforms would be 80/20 for or more. Pretty impressive considering that ‘is the sky blue?’ would come out around 50/50 these days.

It's not my fault. They always ask me that question either at sunrise or sunset. To change it up, they once asked at midnight.

For me, I’m doing both…and sometimes looking at where you were-both good and bad-helps you recognize and appreciate where you are now. I don’t want to divorce the Gibbs years…or the George Allen years…from what’s happening now and in the future. Since we won’t have the name anymore, I’m glad they’re finding all sorts of ways to blend the old with the new, and doing so by leapfrogging over Snyder’s tenure completely lol…

Also—and I may be the only one—but I never think of Snyder. At all. Ever.

When I want a laugh, I think about Snyder dancing at the bowling alley with RG3. The problem with that laugh though is that it turns into a cry a moment later when I remember that the little Farquaad was our owner.

What today does show is that they are willing to go full on retro without the old name and logo. Certainly leaves the possibility open that we could see future uniforms such as the 70th and 75th with the new logo in the future. I know it’s been suggested here already but how cool would it be if they literally brought back the 70th without the feather on the spear? With that being the only difference?

Hopefully we can see a Lombardi-era alternate at some point. That would be sweet!

I was at the DG number retirement game last season and they screwed that up by removing the
Logo from the mech for sale at the stadium.
I go to 2-4 home games a year, have zero commanders name items in my home . And any I get for gifts get sent to goodwill.
The name is trash, the nfl is vile for allowing the chiefs to exist and not allow the guys that own the team and obviously want to bring the old logo back at min and name at best after he spent billions for the team and now 2.5 billon for a stadium.
I am 100 percent in understanding the name wont come back, but damn it let us have 2-3 games a year with the spear or R with feathers or the chief logo. Or make a new real logo for the team that W sucks so bad.

It’s not for me to argue what you want to see out of the team. My only point was that (no offense intended) you are in a dying breed of fans that care this much about the name, branding, etc.

There is no amount of complaining or being upset about it that’s going to change it. It’s probably time to embrace it, or at minimum accept it - but it’s supposably a free country.

It's bittersweet seeing those uniforms and thinking about what could have been if those had been the uniforms from the start. But if they do eventually get picked as our normal uniforms, I'd be okay with taking the detour that we did. It means Snyder never touched those uniforms. More and more, I don't care about what Snyder did and didn't do to the brand and uniforms, but I'll take that one little bit of satisfaction.

I did too. I didn't even notice that. I was too busy enjoying the legend and great ceremony it was. Clown-pounding the Panthers was a blast too--despite Daniels going out.

I really don't mind the matte helmet at all. It really pops on a sunny fall Sunday afternoon (and looked great in person at the NFCCG, even if the team didn't)...but those current white jerseys are NOT good.
