NIL has ruined college sports for me.

I can't believe how much grief on got on a Maryland board after I saw them in one of the warm up games and pronounce that this team sucks. It does suck to have to take a year off but next year should be different.

Know what sucks about college sports today? Even in a lost season there is always a reason to watch. We could monitor the progress of a highly regarded freshman or whatever. Now I can't even do that, no guarantee that freshman will be here next season.

I don’t know if they will suck, but it’s going to be a long season for sure. And I agree, there is very little interest in seeing a guy develop. So many players transfer for more money and more playing time. Coaches have to play that game too and why spend time developing a player when he’s going to go elsewhere. It means a new team every year.

I don't think Maryland is even sniffing the tournament this year. I watched most of the Gonzaga game and some of the Alabama game. They simply don't have the talent to compete with upper echelon teams. You need at least a couple guys who can dribble and create their own shot, and there isn't really anyone like that who can score in isolation. Maybe Coit when he is playing well or Adams, but he is really young. Rice has spurts but he is kind of a stand beyond the arc type player. Payne is pretty good when he catches the ball near the rim, but that's about it.

It is fine, this is Buzz's first year. Just want to see them get better as the season progresses. Adams, Mills, Turkson, Rice, and Alston have a chance to be on the roster next season. Aside from that everyone is graduating.

I was told Payne had first team BIG potential. I'm not kidding. He's a really good player but no way on this.

Best half of basketball this team has played this year, by far. Diggy and Rice on fire from deep, and everyone seems locked in. Payne playing really well again, but gets his leg rolled up on, and is out with knee knock. He’s back on the bench just before half, but knee with a big wrap on it.

They’ll most likely get blown out second half, Michigan is just THAT good, but this first half shows that there is some talent here, and they may steal a few wins they shouldn’t in conference play. Still doubt they make the dance, but they are showing BIG heart tonight!
