March Madness 2013

Go Dukes! Gotta pull for my buddy Goal's JMU squad from here on out...

I had Davidson over Marquette in my bracket, and they gave the game away. Lost by one. DAMNIT. Would have made up for the rest of my terrible bracket, pictured below:

JMU is a good athletic talented bunch, but Indiana has a lot of weapons. When they're "on" like they've been so far in this game they are a tough matchup for anybody.

Yeah, their PG exceeded his season average in the first five minutes. Not our night.

Certainly fun while it lasted. :)

I will say this is the first time since I started in 95 there that we have made the Tourney, and it's been a blast.

Florida Gulf Coast University!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love it!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geez...well the good news is that I don't need to bother looking at my bracket anymore...

Too bad my buddy who's an expert on NCAA basketball want around to help me out this year!

I'm really glad I picked my bracket with my heart this year instead of my brain. I picked against Georgetown because I despise everything about them, always have. They're like the Raiders of NCAA basketball.

I also picked Kansas to be the first 1 seed to lose to a 16. So far it's looking good, and I'm fully aware it won't hold up, because I'm a Carolina fan and things never work out that sweetly.

Farewell UCLA.

And another first round is in the books. My brackets (doing two games online) are decimated already, but this was a fun two days.

The Final Four could be Harvard, La Salle, Florida Gulf Coast, and Manor Ridge Daycare Center. My money is on the kids.

They weren't supposed to be Georgetown...

For the record, I don't even follow basketball of any type, but can't help rooting for the local kids.

The Zags #1 seeding never felt legitimate to me either.

Speaking of seedings, those complaining that Oregon's #12 seed was bogus may have a point-they sure haven't played like a #12 seed.

Butler/Marquette may be the most intense hard-fought, evenly matched game game I've seen so far, Creigton/Cincinnati would be a close second.

Louisville is no joke.

I'm looking forward to Indiana and Miami fighting it out for the East Regional. :)

Kansas doesn't look at all the "powerhouse" they're portrayed to be. UNC? Michigan? Right now I'd pick Michigan over Kansas if they get past UNC.

Looking for more "wheat being separated from the chaff" tomorrow.

P.S.-Highlight reel of the tournament so far:

Hahaha

I know, brother. I was having fun playing along with it. My girl is actually a student there so I root for them even more tjan just being an underdog.

Cool. I know a few kids going to FGCU that were in high school with my daughter, but none on the team.

And from the pages of 'Who the Hell Cares', UVa beats St. Johns and advances to the final 8 in the NIT. Will face Iowa next. Woot. Hoos have won 19 straight at home. They definitely should've been an NCAA tournament team over some of the squads we've seen.

I understand how you feel, Boone. No doubt UVA-or for that matter, Maryland-could have taken out some of the teams I've seen play. Problem is, with automatic conference bids, some of the competent major conference teams get left out.

The upside of the automatic bids was getting the opportunity to watch Florida Gulf Coast bitch-slap Georgetown.

I wouldn't have wanted to miss that. :)
