Legendary Actor Gene Hackman Dead at 95

Yeah, it seems like the only three choices would be a suicide pact, murder-suicide (though the police have said they don't think there was any foul play) or some tragic accident, like a gas leak or something.

Investigation ongoing.
It took a lot for me not to cry all day yesterday.
I'm a big John Grisham fan, and he was the perfect Rankin Fitch in "The Runaway Jury", even though they changed the story away from the book. They were even discussing it on my sports talk radio channel...I had to pull over and cry again.

I have a feeling that this will be another one of those unsolved mysterious celebrity deaths. If Hackman alone had died, no big deal. He was 95. But the 65 yr old wife and the dog? Something is not adding up.

I'm there. The dog would only be killed to silence it, because it would've barked.
This was a murder.

The details may have changed since the last article I read, but the article I read said the dog died locked in its kennel. My speculation is the wife died. Maybe dropped dead, maybe had a health crisis. Hackman heard it, panicked, fell, and couldn't get up and had no way of calling for help. The dog in the kennel may have died of starvation while the other dogs could still roam freely to find their food.

All of that is wild explanation, but it's all I can come up with that doesn't involve a carbon monoxide leak or murder.

This whole thing seems like a crazy accident, bad timing, or both. They had been dead for over a week, maybe close to 2 weeks. The dog died in its kennel, I've heard. It starved to death, or lack of water killed it.

Considering all of the movies that Hackman has starred in, the conspiracy death setting is appropriate, but probably not very accurate.
