actually Brown was a probowl guy but had serious red flags regarding a chronic injury, Kendall was not that good but was cheap. its not about "kicking the can down the road" if mathis can give us 2 perhaps 3 solid years it gives us time to shore up other areas with resources while not playing a guy like chester who is one of the weakest guards in the league. its a no brainer
 
We'll have to be careful not to lump Collins into the Dallas Rogues Gallery--his is a unique situation in which, until and unless we hear otherwise, the man simply got caught up in a shitstorm he had zero to do with. He should get the benefit of the doubt.

That said ... Josh Brent, Dez Bryant, Greg Hardy, Randy Gregory ... you can almost hear Jerry hissing just win baby through those frozen lips.

Desperation time in Dallas? Tony Romo is 35, going on 60, and they handed him a guaranteed $55 mil last year with that 6-year extension.

Jones got on the phone w/Collins and spoke for several hrs. no doubt the turds had other background checks going on including calls to the LSU coach ad local law enforcement.

Call it what you want - but due diligence was done. sometimes the turds reach...other times they do it right. this time looks like they were willing to go an extra length other teams were not. the Pats, btw, often do the same thing....with one notable...oops...now two...exceptions.

So far it has worked out for him. Dez Bryant has been one of the most productive receivers in the league and managed to stay out of jail.

Rolando McClain came back to the NFL in 2014 and exceeded everyone's expectations at linebacker.

Jerry is now thinking because it 'worked' with these players that his team can now take on a host of guys with off the field issues of one sort or another and organize them into a championship football team.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
 
Why hasn't dez gotten that contract then?
