Fuck it. Might as well just fire everyone…

Not a popular thought for those disillusioned with Quinn, but for multiple reasons I could see agents of OC/DC coordinator candidates being told that DQ is guaranteed 2 more years.

Sometimes I wonder if Jaydens success last season was as much Kliff or just his carryover from LSU. I sometimes wondered was he coached up better in LSU and regressed when all of Kliff and the other guys were coached into him.

You would think that sounds crazy since he has pro coaching now but Kliff kinda still seems like more of a college coach who just happens to be in the NFL anyways, compared to the other elite offensive minds. The key will be to see who the replacement is. I still want someone aggressive.

I’m not sure either how I feel, especially if he goes to the Giants or Bears. However, anyone who has designed QB runs as much as KK has to be replaced. I thought it was just JD5 but watching him run Mariota and a 40 yr old Johnson made me second thought him staying. I agree injuries suck but how many of these injuries are because of the offense? I watched him here in AZ with Kyler and saw similar issues. Let’s see what’s next.As far as Whitt, should of been done earlier
why would he go to the bears????

One thing is perfectly clear to me; Quinn is on a very hot seat next year. If it’s not a legitimately very good season, he’s gone.

There is a lack of hot OC names it seems, so I expect to see a different philosophy from whomever they hire. Something more in the Shanahan/Kubiak style. More under center, more play action/boots, and more of a commitment to the running game. And I believe Jayden would thrive in that style of offense, even more so than with Kliff’s horizontal air raid.

And that’s why I didn’t love the KK hire to begin with. I don’t think he’s as sharp as some believe, and I don’t like his style of offense. He was an intriguing name though and certainly competent, but it’s not the style of play I hope for long term.

Keeping Kliff around feels like diminishing returns. Feels the same with Quinn to be honest. If you told me I could have Stefanski here next week, I’d push that button immediately.

Highly unlikely but this is the nfl and the relationship between Caleb and KK are strong and I have seen stranger things( the series And the nfl)

I’m having a tough time here…

Why would you draft Jayden Daniels if the plan wasn’t to feature him on QB runs? The whole reason I was nervous about him was his game is a big arm, keeping plays alive and running, which was perfect for Kingsbury… but his size was a concern.

So if we wanted to use him as a pocket passer why wouldn’t we have drafted the guy who was better suited to be a pocket passer in Maye?

It doesn’t add up

Cutting Kliff makes no sense to me. If we didn’t want to play his style of offense, then why did we draft JD5?

Daniels has the ability to run, sure. He doesn’t need to have a scheme built around a “running QB”. Nothing about Daniels’ skill-set necessitates an Air Raid style hurry-up spread attack out of pistol. He has an elite passing skill-set and one of his strengths is processing and anticipation throws, ball placement. He can thrive in any scheme, and minor in scrambling.

i mean, nothing is impossible, I guess. but, that's Ben Johnson's offense and he is a control guy. Kliff would just be going to sit around and look pretty. I doubt he has an interest in that and neither will Ben.

Kingsbury was apparently the one pushing for Daniels over Maye the most. At least that is what appears to be leaking now.

I agree - but also disagree. Daniels can do a lot, but his instinct and one of his biggest strengths, is his running ability. Taking that “away” limits him. Why have a Lambo to keep it in the garage?

I agree. And I’ll say it more harshly. Feeling you need to move on from both of your hand-picked Coordinators after 2 seasons does not reflect well on Dan Quinn's decision-making and represents a significant failure on his part. This from a guy who supposedly learned so much after getting fired in Atlanta.

This is undeniably true. Even if it’s the right move for the organization in his eyes, it’s still a black mark on Quinn’s record here and reduces the benefit of the doubt he gets for his next mistake. Because these were HIS guys. The upcoming coordinator hires will make or break his tenure here. Maybe as quickly as one single year from now he’ll either be fired or he will have nailed the 2.0 staff.

I was a Kliff critic. That doesn’t mean I think Quinn will nail these next hires.

I feel like if it was as clean as “he’s gonna be a head coach anyways and we need a head start on OC’s” then Russini’s report doesn’t happen last week. Clearly there’s some inner turmoil there. Add to this Jayden and his mom going out of their way to give KK his props.

I don’t even love Kliff, but I loathe the idea of allowing Dan to select 2 new coordinators, a mere 2 seasons in to his tenure here. Why not just pull the plug on the whole thing? Dan was the head coach that oversaw those epic beat downs- yet the coordinators are getting all the blame.

This feels like a mere intro into an offseason soap opera. Yay.

Makes it worse. He wanted him, likely to run. We didn't want him to run. So we drafted him... and the OC is a guy who was always going to be in the HC cycle again. It just doesn't compute.

You can still tell him to scramble when he sees it open while being a pocket passer. Similar to what the Chargers did with Herbert this year. The interesting thing is Udinski is apparently on their list. He transformed Lawrence's game this season into just that.

It's like buying a Lambo and keeping it in the garage - if they didn't want to use him as a runner on designed runs they should have drafted Maye. Period.

This actually pisses me off.

I highly doubt that. I’m sure he loved Daniels. I’m sure AP did as well, who had already been scouting him for multiple years. AP was smitten. He was by far his top QB available at our pick unless we think he’s lying to…secretly make his OC happy?
