As to Jayden, might be an interesting combination is giving him the worst weapons among this 2024 QB class (with at least some possible evidence -- mom, Nabers that it irritates him), and also if they yanked away the offensive coordinator that he has a rapport with and they make him learn a new offense.
Just as a data point, Scott Turner (like Kliff, another former QB) built offenses that his QBs always LOVED. I remember how Alex Smith used to talk about Turner's offense.

When QBs decide who your OCs are... it's interesting, because you'd think that rapport should be valued and it seems to get valued to some degree, but it's certainly not the primary driver in many cases. The Eagles have jettisoned Hurts' favorites as I recall, it's happened many times in the NFL.

The one where it works for everyone is, obviously, success. When you have real success, the org is usually happy and the QB is usually happy. When you don't have success, if one side is happy with the OC, it doesn't always matter a whole lot. The OC may end up out. "Success" can be defined with process as well as results.

He may need a new offense to be able to protect himself better imo.

891 yards rushing in a 17 game season is not good use of a franchise quarterback.

It shows an attitude on the part of the coaching staff and organization that only short-term results count and any thoughts to the long-term competitiveness of the team takes a secondary importance.

That's not a winning formula for anyone and Daniels with his frame is not going to last as long as Jackson and Hurts who have much more rugged physiques to handle taking hits in the NFL.

No one has repeated this. Especially those with real, longtime, respected sources who protect their reputation.
Yes, I tend to doubt it's real that the org will drop Kingsbury. However, I think there are some disconnects in the organization which is not a good thing.

If Kingsbury is out, I think it's because he wants to leave and he gets an opportunity to be a HC. I think those are possibilities. Right now in my head it seems like 50/50 vs him staying for another year. I am not sure he gets hired elsewhere, but if he gets an offer I think there is a real chance he jumps because I don't think he was having fun like last year. He was ready to sign on for this year after last because last year was a blast for him.

This year, it wasn't just the injuries. I am pretty sure Kliff is not all that happy in DC for a variety of reasons.

I recall the narrative, not just with Alex, that hey I loved Norv's offense so Scott is probably the same. But Scott proved to be no Norv.

I've made the case that in my opinion, Adam Peters has done few favors for Jayden. Some hyperbole to make a point on my end. He's given him IMO the worst supporting cast among the 2024 QBs, and the worst defense and basically his plan seems to be Jayden can put the team on his back. You add that and then if ALSO you take away probably the only offensive coordinator with the work ethic to be in the building with him before 5 am to go through early walk throughs among other things, and start with new QB coach, a new offense -- and look body tough cookies suck it up. This isn't Ryan Poles who if he could give Caleb 5 #1 WRs to be successful he would -- this is the dude IMO so far, Peters, who IMO among the young 2024 QBs has been the GM who is the least helpful to his young QB.

And look I am OK with Peters overall. But if I were Jayden IMO he wouldn't be one of my favorite people.

For now, Alex Smith is Washington's starting quarterback. That means for the first time this season, he'll have the opportunity to be "the guy" in offensive coordinator Scott Turner's offense taking the first-team reps.

The two haven't spent much time together. It is Turner's first season in Washington and Smith's first season on the field since 2018. Yet, there is a chance the two could be a solid match that can help jumpstart Washington's offense.

How can that assumption be made? It has to do with the history between Smith and Turner's father, Norv.

After a poor rookie season in 2005 with the San Francisco 49ers, Norv Turner became Smith's offensive coordinator for the 2006 season. It was then that Smith started to see marginal improvement, improving his passer rating from 40.6 all the way to 74.8.

The RPO play against Seattle notwithstanding, not a ton of designed runs for Jayden, heck even with the RPOs Jayden doesn't take off a ton. Jayden's runs come mostly from his own improvising and scrambiling.

If they want to protect Jayden, do for him what the Bears do for Caleb, load him up with weapons so he doesn't have to scramble and buy time for their scrub WRs to get open. Give him some depth so the offense doesn't fall off the cliff if Terry gets hurt.

Sheehan doesn't report much but when he does he's rarely wrong, he seems to have a trustworthy source with the team.

A. the report about a rift with Peters and Kliff was hyperbole (so that jives with the vibe I got from Keim)

B. He couldn't get an answer about whether Kliff stays or goes

Agreed. And Daniels needs to learn to climb the pocket. Something we all noticed with his college tape is how quickly he bails to the right when feeling any kind of pressure at all. That has carried over. He is a better passer on the run than his college tape eluded to though. He is a good enough passer to learn to climb the pocket and throw the ball. Either to a receiver or out of bounds. I think it will come to him with time. Which is why I wanted him to play the last few games.

Just an opinion, but I believe Daniels and Washington would be better re-thinking their offense and moving on from Kingsbury.

We know with the Ertz and Ekeler ACLs and the age/performances of some of the other players on offense like Brown and Sinnott that changes are coming in the offseason in personnel.

May be the perfect time to install a new offense and have the new group grow together moving forward.

I mentioned it earlier but The Athletics NFL podcast compared Kliff to Greg Roman. Effective, but limited. I thought that was a reasonable comparison. Greg Roman did a good job with Lamar in Baltimore, but eventually that ran his course and he seems to do be doing a good job now with the other Harbaugh brother in LA. I think that is what Kliff is. Reasonably good, but he feels a little bit like a system guy who limited by the system he runs. I want to stay with Kliff cause I think he has done a reasonably good job his first two years here and see no need to move on, but I can understand questions about his ceiling. I think we know his floor is solid, he is not going to be like Eric Bieniemy where it seems like the job is maybe a little too big for him, but can he ever be an elite playcaller.

If Kliff left here and didn't get a HC job, I feel confident he would get another job as an OC in the NFL. We have some guys in the past I am less confident saying that about.

Standig just on, he's the closest to repeating Russini, he disagrees that there is a rift with Peters and Kliff, but he thinks they are in at least discussion about scheme.

He thinks 60-40 he's gone but part of that is he thinks the interest around the league of him as HC is sincere. He also doesn't think they'd make a move without having someone in mind as a replacement.

Also, while none have said it this way, part me gets the vibe that the divorce if it happens isn't completely one sided, could be Kliff wants to leave. No one has languaged it that way but some have made points so broadly that it runs through me mind.

Even Russini's article that said a rift, didn't say it was one sided, a rift isn't always one sided. Standig alluded to something, forgot how he worded it, that left me the vibe that Kliff is probably taken care of regardless with all these openings -- if not HC than offensive coordinator.

Hearing the mom Praise Kliff has me in this Deja Vu rg reoccurring nightmare. Please make it stop.

What they should do is hire Stefanski, dump Quinn and now they have an excuse to get rid of Kingsbury. we get an O minded coach that everyone always wanted that can help JD grow... and get rid of Quinn and his incompetence.. and keep him away from the Giants

Stefanski gets a HC job this cycle. Atlanta should hire him given his relationship with Kirk

DQ isn’t getting dumped this cycle

Stefanski to the Falcons sounds as reasonable as anything, but why would an aging has-been getting paid young currently-am money be seen as a selling point for him?
