Keys to the Game Contest

Cousins blows up this week with 350+ yards and 3 TDs plus one rushing.

Okay Philthy is like top 3 in most defensive categories. They've also kept a healthy dose of run game up in their wins, t.o.p. stands out.

Gonna have to smother the hell out of Mathews & Sproles. Stack the line and mix up some run blitzes.

Also need to go all in on the running game. Need 30+ attempts and short passing to keep their O off the field. Vary the tempo with sugar huddle and such as well but pound that rock!

It's a divisional rivalry, so the normal rules don't apply.

I am going all out optimist this week.

Our Defense plays as it did this week, it's smart and tough, gives up a few big plays (runs) but mostly holds firm and keeps the Eagles Offense in check. Not to the degree it stymied the Ravens, but enough. I'm seeing a 20pt game from the Eagles.

Partly in due to the fact that Wentz has his inevitable Rookie off day. It's due. I think our secondary has played well enough lately to give him a hard time finding a place to throw consistently.

From the Redskins O I see a bounce back to the previous week. I don't think we'll be plagued by the wind, Hopkins won't miss and Cousins will be more accurate this week. DJax will play big against the Eagles and I think he's due a long TD. Big scoring day though I think. I also think that our running games tracks itself properly again. Jones showed hesitation last week against that big Ravens front line. I think he fixes that again this week.

The Skins are looking at themselves as a resilient team that hadn't played it's best yet. I think they know that and will be keen to show that all three phases can play up to scratch. You gotta think the Defense will be ribbing the offense about the fact that they saved the game this week. Healthy competition internally between the units might be what we need to happen to get everyone playing to the best. I think the Offense respond in kind this week.

Plus they've seen Philly lose to Detroit.... blood in the water.

Philly I'm hoping are looking at us as a team that they figure they should beat... but are wary of. We've shown resilience and we're on a 3 game winning streak however we got it. Pressure is on Wentz to bounce back from a loss and win a game they probably figure they should.

Still I have faith in the Burgundy and Gold.... I'm saying it's a 27-20 Redskins win.

DeSean TD late in the fourth. Skins 17\eGals 14

The Eagles win a wild offensive shootout with a late drive by six points.

Well, with our habit of making rookie QB's look like inevitable HOF's, combined with a loser head coach, and a schizophrenic/multiple personality QB........prepare for another division loss, at home, against a team we SHOULD beat. The Loser's, and Wrong Play McVay's pass happy personalities help Cybil throw 2, maybe even 3, interceptions. Our two meaningless victories over AFC teams are even more worthless after 2 division losses.

Eagles 31
Redskins 10

Defense totally implodes against the run but sacks Wentz 3 times and picks him off 2x keeping us in the game. Jackson torches the Eagles for 100+ receiving yards and a td, Davis catches the game sealing td with Reed out. Skins win 31-27

It would see that way to old-timers. 2006-2011 they were 1-8 against the rooks but since 2012 they are 4-2 and before Dak the last one was 2014 (Bridge-over-troubled-waters). Wentz has a higher QB rating (103.5) and thrown more TD's (7) than any other rookie so a bigger test this week I should think. Yeah maybe that HOF thing will happen.

Kirk isn't schizophrenic...and neither is he...
just because he can hold a huddle by himself...

Ax is just doing the reverse outcome process. Since the birth of Randy, the team has been winning. :)

Knightingale wins it this week, nailing the score and several key aspects of the game. Keep it simple people - One major play, one player who dominates, one aspect of the game that keys the win, one turning point in the game that is a 'Key'. If you want to expound, I have to weigh where you were wrong as well as where you were right.

Congrats Knightingale  Get Om your mailing info.

Well, if Cybil doesn't have Reed again this week, we don't have a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Lions. Hard to imagine the opposing teams defense being our best offensive weapon, in the passing game, two weeks in a row. Were it not for penalties keeping our drives alive, we certainly would have fallen to the fecals. Loser Gruden's passing attack can't hardly function if even one piece is missing. It doesn't help when Cybil shifts into his "Brett Favre Without The Arm" persona.

Another pick 6 from Cybil turns the tide for good.

Detroit 27
Redskins 13

No mention of "Wrong Play McVay" this week - my favorite nickname ever, btw. Makes me laugh everytime you post it. :)

For the contest - DeSean reminds everyone why he is the best WR we have - 150 yards, 2TDs including the eventual game winner.

Matthew Stafford gives our D fits, extending plays and finding that irritating ****er Golden Tate III for big plays. Fortunately, Josh Norman gets a key pick that leads to a short field and Skins TD, and we force a Lions fumble to stop another drive in the red zone.

The running game does just enough to complement 2 Cousins TD's, and we escape 27-23.

Stephen A Smith surprises no one and says absolutely nothing.

Kirk gets hit hard and is stunned. Colt finishes the series with a TD.

Kirk returns, it's now becomes evident that our Captain Kirk is finally back and stays for the rest of the season.

I like that

yes..... he does pass the sideline protocol first....so Steven A has nothing to say about that but he will bitch about how can anyone be 'stunned' and still pass the crappy protocol put out by the NFL

With or without Reed, Davis has a big day (6 catches, 100 yds, 1 TD) because the Detroit defense is so weak in the middle.
Over half of the Eagles passing yardage against them came from the RB's. Redskins don't throw as much to their backs but they do to the TE's in the middle.
