Keys to the Game Contest

OK BOLD prediction time....

I'm going out on a limb here....

Kirk has now played his pre-season games and shaken off the rust. Crowder continues to impress and Jordan Reed becomes a factor close to the goal line. I think this week is the week we fix our Red Zone issues. I think we start turning those FG's into TD's and we rack up a big points score. I'm thinking 30 plus. Multiple receivers are in on the score fest, especially Jordan Reed who gets at least 2.
Much of this is because we continue with last weeks (kinda) commitment to run the ball down their throats, forcing a semblance of balance to their defense and giving us room to breathe in the passing game.

However our Defense struggles. Hit by injuries we struggle against ANOTHER QB who we should be rights have our way with I get the heebiejeebies when I see rookie or 3rd string QB's, for some reason we seem to struggle with them. So the Browns rack up some points too.

I think it's pretty high scoring, but not too close.

I'm going 37-21 Skins.

Jones runs for a TD (and gets 83 yards rushing), Jackson gets one on a long strike early and Reed gets a couple. Crowder is instrumental in moving us down the field but doesn't crack the endzone.
Hopkins nails a couple of FG's for short measure,

And I'm probably hugely wrong. I just have a feeling. LOL
Making my case for winning! LOL
OK so I wasn't far off :p

CLOSE - Kirk is looking better on occasion and managed the game for us.
Hmmm - Crowder continues to impress... he was a bit more invisible this week.
GOTCHA - Reed becomes a factor close to the goaline.... scores at least 2
JUST ABOUT GOTCHA - Skins score 30 plus (we got 31
GOTCHA - We continued commitment to the run forcing some semblance of balance.
KINDA GOTCHA - Defense struggles. I thought it would be in the passing rather than the run though.
GOTCHA UNFORTUNATELY - Hit by injuries.
DID I GOTCHA? - High scoring game.... 58 points between us? Is that considered high enough.
CLOSE - 37-21 Skins.... 31-20 Skins. I'll take that. LOL
ALMOST GOT - Jones runs for 83 yards and a TD (He got 112 and a TD)
MISSED - Jackson gets a long strike early.... He got a 55 yard Pass Interference call does that almost count?
HALFWAY - Hopkins got one of the two I thought he'd get. But then again that's an easy call. Hopkins will always get at least 1 with this team. LOL

I'm glad I was kinda right though.

Alas my feeling for this week isnt as good :O

SkinsOrlando gets the win this week as he correctly called 3 things. Skins took a commanding lead early, Browns came back before halftime, and 2 Jordan Reed TDs were keys.

I would discourage you guys from putting numerous details in your 'Keys' - because you're going to be wrong with as many as you are right - and that makes it difficult to 'score'. Keep it simple, like SkinsOrlando did.

Alright, our D sets the tone early with a sack/fumble/td from Murphy

McVay sees a red dot on his shirt and realizes he MUST call more runs. Kelley breaks off a 60 harder for a score and we have over 175 on the ground

Pierre gets our 3rd td with a sweet fade from Kirk.

Trent blacks out and blind side blocks a lb into the end zone tunnel.

Baker smashes Flacco landing on him and puts him out of the game (unintentionally)

"Wrong Play" McVay calls a pass play, when it's clear we should be running, right about the time Cybil Cousins transforms into his "Brett Favre Without The Arm" persona.

Result? Pick 6. Turdbirds pull away and never look back.

Loser, looks lost. As usual.

Reed has a monster game with 110+ yards and 1 TD, including the eventual game winner.

Ravens lead the entire game, but we hang around and trail by two late. Defense comes up with a stop (no, seriously) with less than 2 minutes left, and the offense does just enough to put us in position for a 52 yard FG attempt on the final play.

Dustin Hopkins is The Man.

OK Here goes.

1) Our Defense skews closer to the mean this week. We shore up our Run defense somewhat which is great, but we don't force anywhere near the turnover rate of the past couple of games. In fact I think we grab a single interception and that's it. Maybe Norman again now he's on a roll.

2) Our Offense continues to click and we look good early against the Ravens and their Defense. Reed gets one more this week but the defense is wary of him after last week. This does open up other receivers though.

3) That being said I think we get down early in this one and have to play catchup. Which means we abandon the run a little and the balance we saw the past couple of weeks starts to skew a little again. Jones has a pretty good day though even so with around 70 yards and a TD as we

My God. What's happened to you? :)

It's not that I even disagree, really. I do not have high expectations for this game, but ... it's like I don't even KNOW you anymore.

Er, anyway ... Skins give up 150 on the ground. Lose by one score. Sigh.

Ravens control the time of possession in the first half 20 minutes to ten minutes but only have a lead of 7 to show for it. Skins score quickly in the 2nd half with a 25yard plus td to jackson to tie it up. Then field goal city for both teams leading to ot. Cousins throws a pick on the first drive of ot, ravens end up kicking the game winning fg.

Joe Flacco leads a last minute drive and the bad guys win, 20-17.

Baltimore puts up a goose egg in the first half, Redskins put up 17. Second half, Red Zone failures return and the Skins trade FG's with the Ravens TD's.
Skins 26 Ravens 21. All scoring ends halfway thru the 4th.

{side bar - they are both tied with a 6.8 average in the 4th}

Terrance West has another 100+ yard day getting a TD late to put the Ravens up by 2 scores and seal it for them.

Joe Flacco throws for 400 yards and 4 TD's exposing our weak secondary. Ratbirds win by 3 TD's.

Crowder- walk off punt return for the win in OT

Although it didn't happen in OT, TomE gets the win this week for predicting a key Crowder punt return for a TD. Nice job Tom - send Om your mailing address info.
