is this a critical game?

It's funny how so many piss and moan about Robert needing to be a better "pocket passer", and not run around so much.

Personally, I'd like to see more fans learn to be "pocket fans", and not panic and run too early.

We should practice what we preach.

Well played sir.

Then he turned around & tweeted RG3 telling him, "it's time to shine in the Lone Star State!"

What? You just predicted the Texans would break a franchise record & NOW you're tweeting the guy you expect to be the recipient of those sacks & tell him to "shine"??? Typical
Hahaha..my wife said "is he high?"

I said "no, but Irvin and Sapp most likely are"

The Gruden era starts today. Any fan who wants to scramble out of the pocket after one game should be benched.

Grab a drink, some snacks, and your favorite chair, boys and girls. The thrill ride starts today.

Preach it, brotha! :claps:

LOL Yeah, of all the people I expected to be "high" on RG3, Irvin was the last on my list, yet, he seems to be the one guy that is really liking Robert on that show. Odd. He MUST be high.

Or maybe he's not high enough lol

He's now dynamic. A rookie who just had a concussion is considered as good as watt.

It's like they just get really high and decide to just ramble off nonsense. But it's all good as long as they laugh.

Good to see there in mid-season form already....

I have an "Easy Rider" image in my head of them sitting in the parking lot, smoking joints before the show & roaching them just before they go live.

Not critical at all. Every game is important to win but this is out of division, first game and away. I agree with McD5 that it's a big game for Griffin though, he needs to build some confidence and I need him to shut up all the people yapping about him being a bust. Texas is good on D but they are no 85 Bears, I can't quite figure out why they are being treated so. Yea Polumbus sucks but we can double that side and play some max protect if we have to, plus we can roll out Griffin and move the pocket. Plus there happens to be this absolute stud on the left side named Trent Williams that seems to get little to no mention in all the breakdowns about Watt and Clowney putting up 8 sacks. Id take Trent over either one of em on any given play. Homer call?

Oh yea we also have a pretty decent run game too...so why is Houston being treated with such reverence? Please. Almost makes me want to go all in on the homer take just out of rebellion. ;)

It's only critical if our main goal is to constantly please the media and all the critics (including a lot of fans), and hope they continually say something good about us, and unconditionally believe in us.

This game is critical for only one person-RG3.

How much has he developed? And if the answer isn't good, how much time do we devote to him?

The entire season? 6 games? Do we just ditch the season, or do we pull the plug after several games and try to make the playoffs?

I feel like, if RG3 is a reason we aren't going anywhere & losing games & they feel the need to go aa different direction mid-season, we're not making the playoffs.

Yesterday my 8 year old son asked me if this was a big game. I told him if we didnt win, it might be a bad season. He then asked if a team could get into the playoffs going 15-1. I chuckled and said any team that goes 15-1 will get into the playoffs. He then said that we can lose this game and it might still be ok.

Tough to argue with that logic.

Seriously though, historically this team tends to collapse around Week 5 or so. I dont think we'll know anything until we see how the team plays down the stretch. Until then, lets just hope we get some wins.

true dat my brotha.

what's that got to do with the question posed? :)

The game isn't necessarily a must win by itself but who believes this is a 12-14 win team?

If the broncos or seahawks lost week 1 then sure, no sweat but if we can't beat a team coming off 14 straight defeats then figure the odds of winning 10 of the other games and making the playoffs.

Not gonna happen if we lose this one IMO.

another smart Henry in the world! are we ready?

I'm optimistic abt the season...though I do seem to recall folks saying the same things after last season's start.

I say we go after Homey the Clowny today. introduce him to the NFL and all that good stuff.

This game is not critical. If you're under the delusion that this team is a Super Bowl contender...I would suppose it's critical. If you're under the assumption we are a playoff team, I guess it could border critical. If you're under the conclusion a team that went 3-13 has made some important changes and are willing to give the coach some time to accomplish his goals...you probably see this as just another game against a non-division, average at best squad who is going through a transformation of their own.

It all boils down to expectations. If you expect this team to be great, yeah...it's critical. I expect nothing more than a better team than last year who might surprise enough to win at most 9 games, 7 more likely. Nope...not critical, but it sure would be nice to see the new regime go out and win their 1st game. It sets a much better tone than losing their first.

That was truly a critical game..... critically flawed.
