Is that why the "experts" consider the traitor McVays Rams to be stronger and more dangerous than us, even though Philly owned them just a few weeks ago?

Why is McVay a ‘traitor’? We weren’t smart enough to give him a pathway to a HC position and he was smart enough to know that being successful in a Dan Snyder owned organization was going to be tantamount to impossible.

It’s obvious why we are the underdog in the playoffs and will continue to be. First of all, we the bottom seeded team remaining. Secondly, we are in the first year of a rebuild with a completely new coaching staff and rookie QB.

I agree he should have become head coach over Gruden, but don't like anyone who chooses to leave the franchise. You're either a Redskin for life, or you aren't. You know what I mean?

Yes we are the bottom seed, but only because of the Rams winning their division with an inferior record compared to ours.

These aren’t fans. This is their work environment. It’s like me arguing you should stay in a shitty job reporting to a horrible boss for less money - you know - out of ‘loyalty’

The Tennessee Titans also handily defeated the Houston Texans, yet we are being told in the media that we are the worst remaining team in the tournament. Its bullshit.

True but everyone who comes to work here should realize and respect the tradition of the organization and the Rings of Gibbs and other Legends of Washington. Either be part of the solution or part of the curse.

There are something like 5 or 6 HCs in the league that were asst coaches here. You're saying that Mike McDonald should still be our ball boy? That's absurd. We were the most dysfunctional team in the league with a horrendous owner. It's wild that any of those coaches even came to our team in the first place.

And I don't see the "media disrespect" y'all are talking about. GMFB has us ranked 6 ahead of the Texans and Rams.

And we're about to play the #1 seed that has been a top 5 team NFC or AFC all season long, coming off a week of rest. They abused teams all year. Just absolutely ridiculed the opposition. We have squeaked out a last second win the last 5 weeks and our only really notable win at the end of the year was the Eagles without Hurts.

We're right where we should be.

Washington has a decades-old reputation to overcome. The popular narrative is that we are Jayden Daniels and a bunch of crap. Even on this board, you see poster after poster saying we need a WR2, our oline stinks, we need to replace BRob and the entire RBs room, we need an edge, we need a defend tackle.

If we are so down on the talent on this team why should the national media take a rosier view?

The truth is, we are a better roster than you’d think from our grumblings and we have ways to go.

So, who cares what they think? They thought the Cowboys would be in the Superbowl this year. We’re here and we deserve to be here.

Worse remaining TEAM? No, not true.

Least talented team? Yeah, yeah we are.

What is interesting is many coaches really enjoy working here; they like the community, and they prefer this landing spot for their families compared to many others. The Redskins history was also attractive to many previous coaches, young and old. It wasn't even working with Snyder that stopped many of them.

It was Snyder's stupid decision-making. I have read before about many of our more talented assistants wanting to stay here, but at the end of the day Snyder (and more recently Rivera) just didn't want to keep them on. They had other preferences, for this shiny object or that buddy to get jobs here. So, we have had a ridiculous amount of truly talented coaches go through here only as a stepping stone.

Short aside: you may want to consider a calling as a fantasy writer, or maybe a fantasy game designer. "Rings of Gibbs" - sounds like a fantasy series. The tagline can be "Either be part of the solution or part of the curse."

Actually, I had been rooting heavily for McVay and LeFleur PRECISELY BECAUSE Lord Farquaad and Brucifer, Prince of Dimness, pushed them aside. How much do you think it burns Dannyboy to know he had the next Gibbs in the building in the building and cast him aside.
Farquaad wouldn't have recognized front office talent if it stuck its head out of the toilet and bit him on the ass.
What do Kyle S, Sean McVay, Matt LeFleur, and Kevin O'Connell all have in common? They were all hired by teams with solid GMs. Imagine how different the Snyder years would have been if instead of hiring Lobsterman (who had only won 1 playoff game in his entire career without both Elway AND Terrell Davis), he hired someone from the Ravens FO and then hired Kyle, who brought in McVay and LeFleur, and hired a solid defensive coordinator, rather than some lackey like his dad did

Silly post after silly post from you, man. Are you trolling or just a peculiar fella? The answer heavily influences my level of interest in interacting, but I can only speak for myself

I certainly don't consider myself a troll. I was invited onto this board by Om back when it first started, shortly after ES was bought out by the Redskins and was suddenly inundated with Lavar-obsessed teenagers posting repetitive threads. I was an ES member since 2002 and posted regularly there until they pulled the plug.
I am certainly sarcastic when it comes to the ancien regime of Norvo the Clown, Lord Farquaad, Vinny Bugeyes et al. You could search for the thread The Epic of Grudenwald if it's still archived here somewhere (been a few years, so I doubt it), or maybe guys like Om, Die Hard, Burgold, SkinsMaryDu et al can advise you as to whether I fall in the troll or the "peculiar fella" category.

Actually, here it is. Some of it may be a bit dated now.

Absolutely not you lol, I’m very familiar with you. That was directed towards the OP and his obsession with curses, magical thinking, and strength/conditioning

I was a Redskin for life until Snyder killed that part of me. I grew up with a Sonny poster over my bed and was a season ticket holder for 20+ years but that little Farquaad ruined my fandom.

I would not blame McVay for upgrading.

I am a diehard Washington Redskin who believes Suzan Harjo and Dan Snyders stench will only be fully cleansed with the attainment of Lombardi number 4.

If we get past Detroit, the curse weakens, as the NFC Championship is something Snyder NEVER attained. Snyder has made it the the divisional round twice though.
