Is Griffin Really Playing Possum With Seahawks?

I don't get fans sometimes as well. Everyone sees what they want I guess...I can't believe Elephant could watch the game 3 times and once in the stadium and still think Griff "over through Josh Morgan several times" :bsflag:Griff had what 9 incompletions total? Hey man I get it ....It's your story and you're sticking with it....:indian_chief: Httr:dance:

Just from experience, I can tell you that a lot of these braces definitely alter your natural gait. That's the point of them - to limit your natural movement. If Griffin *IS* playing possum, and takes the brace off (or changes it for another, less-invasive type), the Seahawks are in serious trouble.

The Seabags are in trouble anyway. Too much pre-game trash-talking. Up season or down season the NFC East as the Giants showed in 2007 and 2011 usually produces at least one team that is the equal of 12-4 or 13-3 teams from other divisions.

It's just the history.

OK, here's a little fact you may have missed in school...

When numbers decrease, as Griffin's did in the Cowboys game, it is otherwise known as a drop off.

If he was throwing at an average 66.5% over the season and never threw for less that 60% in a single game the whole season. That number decreased... therefore a drop off.

If he completed only 9 passes in one game (his lowest total all season) while attempting 18 (Not his lowest attempt total)...that is a drop off.

Cycleans, you are normally pretty astute and generally offer well informed and intelligent posts, but how you can justify your interaction with me in this thread, continuing to suggest his performance was not a drop off is absurd. You can cherry pick what I said to include just one statement in your quote, but there are a few others who seem to have agreed with me and no one who has agreed with you, I would say you are the one who seems to be the duck.

I think that the brace is the problem at this point. I have a hinged brace for my "trick" knee as others here have mentioned, and you're a different person when you have one on. It effects everything...

I would easily change any QB's throwing mechanics, so a drop off in passing is a gimmie IMO. Robert has said he's been taking it off until he gets caught by the staff, and forced to put it back on. While I think we can win with him in the brace, with it off, we can kick the living piss out of the hags.

Just hoping he's playing without it for the next 4 games :)

Sorry didn't mean to offend you. Maybe the BS flag was uncalled for. I apologize for that. I just think there are way to many people (mainly in the media) over reacting to Griffins leg brace and using it as an excuse for why the Skins may lose this one.
I guess what I should have said is I believe the offense has been scaled back due to concerns about re injuring his leg. As a result the passing game hasn't been as sharp. Imho that is different than having an off game...

I appreciate that Cycleans... I agree, there is no doubt it was scaled back to focus more on the run. I just felt Griffin's game was a little off as well.

HTTR!

Add me to the brace wearers list. Those who have never had to wear one will never understand how it changes everything you are used to before the brace.

Are there any risks to Griffin in wearing the brace for the knee but compensating for the balance issues by injuring another area?

In the long term, yes, but as his knee is still not 100%, by wearing the next (few) games won't have any long term injury effect to others areas.

I'd prefer he wear a brace now than seriously injure the knee and go through reconstructive rehab. For someone who relies on his legs to be a dynamic as he is, a knee reco could have major effects on his mobility.

Pretty sure he's had that kneed repaired already, thinking MCL.

I've found the brace pisses off my hamstring. I guess between the lack of natural movement in the knee, and the upper brace around the thigh, it causes it to tighten / cramp at times.

Also got hit with a strongly kicked soccer ball from point blank range on the hinge pivot. Had me on the ground for a few minutes.

Of course, Robert has the advantage of a state of the art brace, and pro trainers.

The media slobbing has continued and even increased for the Hags this morning. Sounds just like Dallas last Sunday.

Except this will finish even worse for them.

Don't know who you can trust less, Shanny or Robert...

Shanahan said he let Griffin return with the blessing of James Andrews, the renowned orthopedic surgeon, who was on the sideline.

Andrews, however, told USA TODAY Sports on Saturday that he never cleared Griffin to go back into the game, because he never even examined him.

"He didn't even let us look at him," Andrews said. "He came off the field, walked through the sidelines, circled back through the players, and took off back to the field. It wasn't our opinion.

"We didn't even get to touch him or talk to him. Scared the hell out of me."

It's been, what, 4 weeks since the injury?

If we lose, it won't be because of this knee injury.

Probably not but a fully mobile RG3 is a heck of a lot more dangerous than one wearing a knee brace.

It's absolutely ridiculous how the analysts are picking Seattle simply because RG3 is not 100% - come on man, he led us on a game-winning drive on one leg, and he's improved huge amounts since then, and RG3 at about 80% is still better than most QB's in the league, and he's already proved that in the last few games. So now, he can only scramble for a 12 yard gain, instead of a 20 yard gain, big deal !

We'll see. I see his health as the differentiator. Their D is better. We need our O at full strength, which means Robert at full strength. I think the loss of mobility is a huge factor in this game. Teams go the way of their QB. Just the way it is. Just hoping it's much improved.
