Its already great that Orakpo gets to go up against a 2nd string LT, who at best isnt feeling well... But if gets to go up against their 3rd string? Oh my goodness.

They were gonna have to double him anyway, with the 3rd stringer, they may have to double and get a RB to chip out. With all that attention, Kerrigan could have a monster day.

Problem is, you have to come in, in control of your own speed. Cause if he can side step the initial rush, that's when he's most dangerous.

Keep him in the pocket, first. That's where he's the most ineffective.

He's most ineffective when you get a hat on him :)

The goal should be to pound Vick at every opportunity and have him eating grass on a regular basis.

That is going to be an interesting aspect of the game. Philly has done a very good job of protecting Vick. He's been sacked 7 times in 5 games-an average of 1.4 times per game. The only QBs with a lower rate of being sacked so far are Matt Stafford at 1.2/game, Jason Campbell at 1.0/game and Ryan Fitzpatrick at 0.8/game.

The interesting part is that the Redskins lead the league with an average 3.75 sacks per game-Philadelphia is averaging 3.2 sacks per game, BTW, they along with the Giants at 3.6, the Vikings at 3.2, Dallas at 3.25 and the Texans at 3.0 and the Redskins are the only teams in the league averaging 3 or more sacks per game.

This could be a rough day for Grossman as well if we don't do a good job of protecting him.

Low sack rate for sure but how much of Philly's "protection" is due to the athleticism of Vick. The guy is just plain hard to sack.

Hit 'im hard and often, within the rules of the game, of course

Oh definitely his athleticism plays a large part in this-he's elusive. I'm thinking, however, now that we have the Orakpo and Kerrigan "bookends" that he'll have to contend with and Laron back to possibly lay a wallop on him if he breaks into the second level we might be able to...uh...discourage him a bit. :)

One of the features of the Redskins on the sack thing is the fact they're distributed better than a lot of other teams-take Jared Allen away from the Vikes or Ware away from the Cowpukes-or at least neutralize them they're much less effective. We've got half-a-dozen guys that have sacks already-more to contend with for opposing QBs.

Along the same line, just for informational purposes, Justin Babin, Cullen Jenkins and Trent Cole have 15 of the Eagles 16 sacks.

Without Cole and Peters the Eagles are basically fighting hopping on one foot with one hand tied behind the back.

That's one reason this game is imperative for the Redskins to win.

Already the Redskins let the Cowboys off the hook this season when they had an injury list as long as one's arm.

Gotta beat these teams when they are down.
