And how many times does he get to do this before a coach has the balls to cut him ?

I thought the hit on Pierce, that appeared to give him a concussion, was helmet to helmet and should have drawn a flag. So he got lucky on that non-call

But then the very next series, he comes back with the same old antics.

Why should we believe he's going to ever change ?

Can't we just get this drama over with and move on at the position, while it's still preseason ?

The one on Smith looked shoulder pad to shoulder pad.

He's not going to learn until he hurts himself.

Jay Gruden loves physical football. We are going to physically beat down the great majority of teams we play against.

We will be delivering a lot of violent hits this season. He gets players to play on another level--in a Doc Rivers sort of way. And that hitting becomes contagious.

I'd love to see Merriweather clean it up a little without drawing fines and penalties, but I greatly prefer the new character this team has quickly taken on.

He has. He's already knocked himself out against the packers

Well I'd rather have a player that is a little too aggressive, than have an entire team that just goes through the motions.

We're going to be a bruising team this season.

On first look, it appeared he was head hunting. After seeing it a few times, it was not so bad...looked shoulder to shoulder.

I hear what you're saying, I just think this was a bad call by the refs who will not be questioned because it was Brandon.

anyone remember when RGIII's pops complained to the press abt the Shanahans not developing his son as a pocket passer? perhaps there was cause on the part of the Shanahans.

Which hits are all of you talking about ?
There was 2 in question.
One of them knocked Pierce silly with no penalty that totally appeared to go to the head, and the other was penalized and also went to the head, or pretty close.

Is it a penalty to hit a running back, in the backfield and between the tackles, in the helmet during a running play?

The hit on Torey Smith was legal.

You want answers?

I think I'm entitled to.

You want answers?

I want the truth.

You can't handle the truth.

At the same time his shoulder hit the other guys shoulder, the crown of his helmet hit the other guy in the face mask.

Good call. Meriweather is either stupid, or dirty.

I vote, stupid.

Meriweather lowered his head and leading with shoulder. Receiver then lowered his head and was helmet to helmet. This is football and stuff like this will happen. This wasn't a blatant head shot.

Looked that way to me too, the flagged shot was 'iffy', don't know if a penalty beyond the one on the field will happen.
The powers that be should review the tape and find that the head shot was incidental because both guys ducked down into the collision, no need for fine or suspension for Meriweather as I see it.

Will be interesting to see how Goodell handles this. To me would send wrong message if come down on Meriweather after going easy on Rice for what he did.
