We've had some suggestions about News article posting and have had some staff discussions. We gave thought to creating a separate subforum for all news articles. That sounds great, but what we've found in the past is that if news is posted somewhere outside of our main 'Sons of Washington' forum, it doesn't get seen, and even more so, it doesn't get talked about. So we've decided not to go that route.

Traditionally, how we've handled 'NEWS' items or articles is, we start a new thread about it. If you want to put (Breaking News) or something in the thread title, go for it. It will get more views and more discussion as a separate thread in our main football forum.

We also discussed Commanders-related news or other posts about the team made on social media outlets (X, Facebook, Instagram, Tik-tok, You Tube, Bluesky, etc..). Traditionally, we have put those kinds of posts in an existing thread (for example, if it's about the possibility of a star player from another team coming here next year as a free agent, we'd post that in the running Free Agency thread). If there's not an existing thread relevant to the post, you can put it in a newly-created thread called 'Commanders News (Social Media)

So in a nutshell, if you want to post a social media post or news item, you have lots of choices. If it warrants it's own thread - start one.
If it is about a specific topic, like next year's draft, put it in an existing thread on that topic.
If it doesn't fit an existing thread, you can put it in the 'Commanders News (Social Media)' thread

Hope that helps!
