Definitely Mickalino.
Progress report. I have 7 of my 10 raised beds built (6 installed). I have two rows of grow bags currently with vegetable plants sitting where my final two rows of beds will be installed. One is cucumbers growing on a trellis. As I have already harvested a ton of cucumbers and am not going to be doing any canning/pickling beyond refrigerator pickles this summer, I will probably pull those up and install. The other row are squash and tomatoes in grow bags that are staked. I will probably carefully move those as well if I can do it without doing too much damage. I expect to have all the raised beds in place by the end of the week.
The next project will be installing arches in each of the five rows. I don't think this will be too labor intensive but I have never tried to create arches with cattle panels before, so we will see. I am going to place each end of the arch about a foot deep inside the two beds I am connecting so I can plant on both sides of the arch. My wife will be my 'helper' as I try to bend these so that should be an interesting dynamic, lol...
Once I have the beds in place, and the arches built, I will fill my beds. I had planned on doing the Hugelkultur methode of filling them about halfway with logs, branches, leaves, etc... but the more I have read about that, I think the benefits are not worth the amount of work it would take.
After filling all my raised beds, I will put together another long raised bed along a 40' section of chain link fence where I will grow pole beans. That will be the last project of this summer.
I am making progress but I have a long way to go. Moving all of the dirt is going to be an ass-kicker. I'm going to pay my neighbors teenager to help me.
