Schefter had a report in the last day or so from "informed Redskins source" (i.e., obviously Shanahan, w/ whom he's friendly) that the Skins are "not actively seeking to trade Haynesworth," and have not had such discussions since March 31.
What that signals to me is that the Skins are trying to signal to the league that they know they hold the cards, and will field serious offers.
Snyder, in the uncapped year, can finally use his wallet to buy draft picks: Haynesworth for $16M for the next 3 years is an outrageous steal; we should be able to get a low (or future year) 1st/high 2d from a team that wants an excellent (if kinda lazy and petulant) player for a very cheap price.
I'd rather keep the guy, b/c I don't think he'll be a distraction if we're winning, and he really is a game-changer, and was for us, last year, even w/ his obvious lack of conditioning.
