Griffin OUT for Saturday's Game

I know this is twitter and I usually hate using Twitter as a source.... but this is Britt McHenry. Someone who has a lot of in with the team due to her history as a local reporter, who is catching on at ESPN and would gain a LOT to uncover some big conspiracy. This is what I had heard her reporting earlier and it could shed a smidge of light on to whether this is completely out of bounds or a possibility. Again, it's twitter, but these seem to be sound statements, not speculation.

In this instance, the neurologist can clear a player, but in speaking with neuropsychologists (looking at computer data) reverse decision

Important to note: This evaluation is done by an independent neurologist. Not the team. Neuropsych data available when Griffin passed tho

Bottom line: Data was available Thursday to this independent neurologist #RGIII

Good ol bspn. If there are multiple parts to the concussion testing why was he allowed to go back to practice if he wasn't fully cleared?

If they messed up and allowed a player back on the field who shouldn't have been they could be looking at a lawsuit. This is the type of things the nfl is supposed to be stopping

It sounds on the surface like Gruden WANTED Griffin to play, and the neurosurgeon withdrew the ruling. Gruden doesn't know how to read a neuro report...

Gruden was on nfl network yesterday and said that he was cleared and would play. He also then said that Griffin needed to realize it wasn't all about him and about the team.

He loves to throw Griffin under the bus whenever he can like he's a spurned ex trying to ruin his life.

Maybe we'll finally be done breaking our nice thing now. God, this is depressing.

How is he throwing Griffin under the bus? Gruden was told by the neurosurgeon that Griffin is good to go. Gruden gets asked by the media so he answers based on the info he's given. I can't imagine that ALL parties involved are in on some big anti-Griffin conspiracy.

Gruden said friday that Griffin has been cleared, and he'll play if he feels well enough to.... how is he trying to throw him under the bus?

Because in the same breath he turned around and said Griffin needs to realize it's about the team and not him. There was no need to sat anything like that since Griffin didn't answer anything regarding it or even speak on it.

He's broken Griffin and has now gotten his wish and pushed him to the back of the bus. Good job, Jayboy. I'd take Zorn over this dude right about now.

I don't see a conspiracy or anyone trying to throw someone under the bus. Reason is I don't think we enough organization or intelligence to pull it off. I am concerned about us being such a dysfunctional organization. There is plenty of blame to go around.

I would say Snyder, the coaches, FO, Griffin and his dad are involved in this mess. It's screwed up to the point where not sure anyone knows the whole or real truth.

It's time to get out act together. Either get RG3 ready to be our QB or move on. I am over all the drama.

The only thing I know in all this mess, is Jay better coach his ass off this year or he'll be seeing the door like Griffin.

I know this much. As usual, due to today's 24hr sports news, and the platform of social media for the masses, this is made out to be BIGGER THAN LIFE ITSELF!!!

The reality is, it doesn't warrant a fraction of the hysteria people are heaping on it.

I have to agree... we're the lead story on ESPN.. they're doing interviews with other doctors, we've got multiple slots on their side bar, and we still haven't heard an official word out of Ashburn since they said he was not playing tonight almost 20 hours ago.

Concussions are a funny thing. Even a minor concussion can have symptoms come back up to 6 months after the fact.

Here is the NFL concussion protocol

http://images.nflplayers.com/mediaResources/lyris/pdfs/NFL_Diagnosis_Mgmt_Concussion.pdf

I just skimmed through it, but it looks like there is more(longer) evaluation of a concussion during preseason than regular season. From my brief viewing, i don't think this would have of happened during the regular season unless he was showing obvious physical symptoms.

EDIT: Sorry, i had a bad link

Read it and it kills any conspiracy crap. There is no mandatory time a player must sit. If subsequent test show he's returned to his preseason baseline test that is taken every preseason, he can be eased back into practice. The independent Dr. Must sign off on this. He'll continue to be tested and yanked if symptoms present.

Pete, I've never had enough brains to know if had one or any symptoms. For me just a struggle to act normal. :rotflmao:

You're wrong :)

maybe. I have seen the toll political correctness has taken up front. will concede that if any Service survives the assault...it'll be the USMC....especially since the Marines seem to elevate the best leaders to the Commandant. truly hope that is the case!

Everyone's frustrated and furious.

Some are pissed because they believe the team is somehow screwing Robert. Like it wasn't the NFL doctor that just shut him down.

I'm furious because this outcome was obvious and he should have been traded long before the draft for anything we could get. And extending him just killed us. Now we are completely screwed.

Nobody will trade for his contract. $3.4 million guaranteed plus the $16 million option gtd. for injury.

Now it's nearly impossible to play him. And it's impossible to trade him.

Cousins paid the Dr off. :insane:

Deal can be restructured if needed for a trade or we agree to cover part of the $$. I do have faith in McCloughan.
