Oh please give me a break. The blitzing put a ton of pressure on our corners to cover their receivers man to man with zero help. They rose to the occasion in a huge way. Had they not they would have gotten burned badly. BB was all over Dez White all game.

Like I said, take a break from the hand wringing for a day or 2 and just enjoy this win. You of all people should be enjoying this. Who hates the pukes more than you?!
 
Not only did we get to enjoy the Redskins left-hook to the Cowboys jaw-so did the largest MNF audience in nearly four years.

The game rating peaked from 11:15-11:30 p.m. with a 14.3 metered market rating."

BB also ran down Murray on his long run in the second half saving the touchdown. In the first half BB stripped Murray on his other long run. BB singlehandedly saved the team 10 points allowed on those 2 plays.
 
Definitely very proud of this team for coming together and putting it to Dallass. I loved the play calling for the most part, blitzes up the ying yang, our youngins Amerson and Breeland stepping up on such a big stage, and McCoy, despite some screwups, maintaining his poise and leading our team to victory.

Last night was the trifecta of NFL aweseomness: Dallass loss, Redskins win & the Redskins win being against Dallass, in Dallass. I really believe this win could turn things around for our team for the second half of the season.

* It's also nice to see all my friends who mocked me yesterday (like I play for the team and have anything to do with their wins/losses) being quiet as church mice today.

P.S. I talked to Kerrigan last night and he profusely apologizes for not getting that critical fumble recovery. ;) :laugh:
 
Monday night miracle part II...... Nope, no miracle at all, that's what this O is supposed to look like. I knew we had a good chance with Colt under center, he's a mobile QB, and the few planned runs early were enough to loosen up the boys. Notice how Morris had more production..... mobile QB makes all the difference with our line. Compton is no world beater yet, but he's an upgrade over Polumbus no doubt. Murphy played a good game for his first start on a big stage.

The real miracle was Haz calling an amazing game. I'm guessing Gruden has been in his ear a lot this past week, and he knows he's not secure in holding the job.

It was a great night, and I'm gonna enjoy the win till we play our next game. We put the "best" team in football in the place, in their house, and it don't get any better then that
 
DeSean Jackson was two errant throws away from having a historic night. Colt admitted he missed Jackson down the field.

6 catches for 136 yards could have been 9 catches for 220 yards.
 
I've been critical of Haslett from when he was first hired. I have to say he does have Garrett and Romo's number. With no interference, he has excellent game plans for the Cowboys. Key is execution, which last night the D was fired up and excited. Their play showed they were there to win and not to lose.
 
Some new blood has helped. The team has been slow to get younger guys out there. But the upshot is we have to see what we have in Breeland, Murphy, Robinson, Compton and some others at the same time we are settling the issue at QB on offense.
 
Murphy looked damn good last night for his first start. Tipped ball, obvious disruption, and that non holding call in the end zone that could have ended the game essentially. Technique and sacks will come for this kid, I am sure of it.
 
The sky is falling crap we kept hearing about being without Polumbus and Orakpo was blow.

Gruden tried to couch it in respectful terms but the truth is these players were holding us back and are too far along at 28/29 to have any real upside.

New guys are going to make mistakes but that is what we should be doing after 3-13, developing players and having them gain experience.
 
The team had a great game and most everyone contributed to the win.

Breeland stands out and it is mostly for one series. Murray was on his way for a 56 yard TD, but someone reminded me of Darrell Green chasing down Tony Dorsett on a Monday night back in 1983. Breeland. He turned on the afterburners and caught one the best running backs in the league from behind. Next two plays - first, he bats the ball away from one of the best receivers in the league. Secondly, Breeland strips it from that same receiver.

I'm not anointing him as the next Green, but we may have a shutdown corner in the making.

Local Dallas radio station saying how Hasletts defense always works against Dallas, it just doesn't work against anyone else. HAHAH. Even they see it. ;)

Hell, if he had just hit Jackson in stride with the 6 he completed to him it could have been 6 for 200 and 2 TDs.
 
A couple/few years ago, we had the Cowboys in a 4th and something big late in the game....for the game. Hassett called a full, sell the farm blitz. Romo beat it with a pass to Dez White (I believe) with DeAngelo Hall on an island. That play beat us that game.

Last night, we had our two, young corners on an island all night....and, for the most part, they held their own. Particularly in crunch time.

Having corners like that gives your defense all kinds of flexibility and the ability to get a little crazy. I was smiling the whole game.

Now, if we can just get our O-Line squared away and have RGIII get back healthy...and focused, I'll have high hopes for the future.
 
Clark may be having a bit of a rough year but if he can clone his smarts to Meriweather and Thomas then things ain't too terrible.

And Meriweather kept timing his blitzes well, coming from deep on the sack/fumble. There’s a reason.

“Ryan [Clark] helped me out with a lot of different things,” Meriweather said. “He helped me out on how to read the play clock and once it goes to so many seconds they can’t audible. It’s small things I never thought about.”

Hail to the mutha ****in Redskins! That was a huge win, with a third string QB! I loved how we blitzed romo all night long! I said before that if we go into the by at 3-6 and get hot who knows what could happen, now if we can be 4-5 at the bye, I will be ecstatic. And those who declared the season over a couple of weeks ago, go pound sand!

Washed that sum bitch down with beer last night and this morning, propped my eyelids open with toothpicks and washed it all down again with coffee so stout...you could change the oil in your car with it.

And I liked it! I loved it!
