Answer ... we are.

Nothing particularly insightful or deep here, but a worthy read.

Who's Afraid of Robert Griffin III? «

Talking Robert Griffin III is big business. There is a reason he makes headlines and drives sports radio conversation every day.

That reason has nothing to do with his actions off the field, or even on it. Griffin played solidly in the Redskins’ loss Sunday to the Texans, and surely was not to blame for his team’s self-inflicted wounds. That won’t matter. Griffin has become one of those guys people love to chew the fat over. Given how much he is dissected, you’d think he seeks out controversy. But almost nothing about him is controversial.

If you compare his biggest “controversies” to those of the other athletes who receive a similar amount of scrutiny, you come up with nothing. The worst thing Robert Griffin can be accused of is sending subliminal jabs at Mike Shanahan (whose handling of what should have been his star pupil was embarrassing to watch) and once actually refusing to take all the blame for a loss, the way he otherwise usually does. Oh, and he tries too hard.

Yes, many people in Washington cannot stand Robert Griffin because he risks injury too often, trying to pick up extra yardage. Oh, the humanity.

I understand that Griffin should be aware of his own value and importance to the team, and he should make careful decisions about what is, after all, his own body. He showed major growth in this department on Sunday, escaping danger and avoiding big hits throughout the game, despite a monster named J.J. Watt living in the Redskins’ backfield all day.

But let’s be serious ...

CLICK FOR THE REST

Yea that pretty much is me to a T right now. Afraid it was an illusion, angst ridden that our team will suck forever.

we'll be fine CT! we have a full draft and FA coming up and some good young talent.a coach who appears to get it and who has a plan. it's just gonna take a while longer than we all fantasied.

Even if it doesn't work out for Griffin, Cousins is already on the roster it's not as though we aren't going to be a better team. We already are. I hope Griffin is our guy and the next guy that steps up I will hope the same. We are in unchartered waters...Qb's didn't start very often until a year or two on the bench...Now it's the norm with a mixed bag....Wilson,Luck, Kapernick, Foles, Griffin etc...

except for Trent Murphy right 62'? :nana:

I kid I kid!

I'm with you bud, growing pains are... well... painful. Griffin might be a physical specimen , but he's still gotta wrap his head around changing his playing style. Not something you can do like ripping off a bandaid.

Very good article, that too few will accept, cause it's more fun to complain.

I don't know if it's fun AX but I think it's definitely cathartic for some. Trouble is the optimists are subjected to it and it drags everyone down. That's why I tend to keep my negative thoughts to myself for the most part. I hope of course that I'm wrong but it looks like an ugly year to me and if Griffin turns into a bust it's going to be profoundly disappointing for me.

We're going to dominate Jacksonville, going a long way towards calming fans down.

For a week any way :)

They better at least win. If not then we might not see them win all year.

I look at the Jags roster and can't see how it's possible for us to lose but then when the game comes I imagine us keeping them in it until the end for some reason.
