I think Mariota is here until Kliff isn’t, for whatever reason that eventually happens. Mariota loses some of his appeal whenever a new OC comes in, I’d think.
Hypothetical to demonstrate what I mean: let’s say after next year when Kliff’s Cardinals money stops being paid, he takes a college job. Same time, Mike McDaniel gets fired (seems the owner likes him and he might hang on another year). In that circumstance, Mariota gets less appealing and another veteran QB who has played extensively in the Shanahan offensive tree probably gains value.
