Game Day - 2020 Week 17 - Washington @ Philadelphia Eagles - SNF Edition

I love Alex. But I’ll say this. If he starts he’s better be 100% healthy and not limited in any way by the calf injury. We can’t afford to have him out there hobbling while we fall behind by 2 TDs. If he’s fully healthy, awesome. If he’s not give it to Heinicke and do it without hesitation. I want to win this game and when it comes to that nothing else, including Smiths amazing comeback, matters.

Well if you believe Rivera and Alex, that Alex was 'on the doorstep' last week but didn't play, then it would appear Rivera shares your sentiment.

You’re probably right - but it’s a different week. There is no ‘if we lose this one we can still win next week and...’. It’s must win and that makes a veteran with loads of experience more tempting even if he’s not healthy. It’s also an even less experienced QB alternative.

If Alex is healed, I’m all in. I just don’t want to hear anything about ‘Alex deserves to start this game’. It has to 100% be about who can win it for us. We trot a gimpy Alex Smith out there, we very well may lose.

I don’t trust Rivera’s judgment as much as some do - because I saw some of his highly suspect decisions in Carolina. Last week is just another example of him making the wrong call. I just hope whatever he decides he gets it right this Sunday.

Seems like Taylor is going to have to Tony Romo the joint if we want to win.

Let the beer memes come forth.

what a shocker, MeSean isn't practicing. That being said, he will be motivated to burn us this week. We need to not let that happen.

I have this weird relationship with my fandom with Alex. I love the dude and think hes a great QB, but he dumps it off way too much and doesn't take ANY chances. So, I find myself yelling at him as much as I do rooting for him. One of my brothers from the military is a Chiefs fan...he told me the exact same thing.

Reports that Alex taking reps with first team

Antonio Gibson not at practice a s Kelvin Harmon sighting. Don't believe he's got any chance to play... just rehab

Al Galdi was arguing (and I agree) that the biggest injuries to worry about weren't at QB - but were McLaurin's and Gibson's. I think we'll be okay at QB. Turner's system calls for taking what the defense gives you and lots of short stuff. Both guys can do that. Alex will either be a go or he won't. Gibson gives us a scary good run threat and intimidating punch in the mouth option. And we all know what McLaurin means to this team. I hope at least one of them is ready to go on Sunday night.

Any updates on the Team and the practice report?
