From Pleasant Surprise to Hopeless

Just how bad have we become that at 3-3, and now 3-4 almost everyone has thrown in the towel. Normally, I'd be cursing at all of you for lacking spine, but it just seems so justified. The last two games we looked like the trash of the league. Absolutely terrible, with no silver linings.

Pretty bad. The thing is, we aren't just 3-4. As I may or may not have mentioned earlier in the season this team always plays it's best ball during the first four weeks of the season. This team gets figured out, or injured, or whatever. But weeks 5-12 are never kind to us.

We aren't just seeing 3-4. We are seeing the same awful middle eight games we always see. And that's too bad.

I have to admit that 3-1 made me perk my ears up, but I was still very wary, and sadly rightfully so. I predicted 4 wins this season at the beginning of the year, but I added 'in a good way.' I still think that. This team is going to actually be bad after all. Oh well. But maybe for once it will be worth something in the end. A couple more drafts like our last one and I think it will.

I used to be the biggest pollyanna ever, every year I bought in to the " we paid a crapload for a big name free agent who filled a hole for us" I would ignore the small voice inside me that was always bitching that we didnt build a foundation. on the site who shall remain nameless, I was always the look on the bright side guy, but then something changed, I realised that no matter how badly myself and the fans wanted to win, this organisation had forgotten the most basic key to succsess, KEEP IT SIMPLE. SPEND MONEY WHERE IT MATTERS on the guys who find the talent, those guys can find you the 5th and 6th rounders who will start for you and contribute, any moron can find a first rounder even a second rounder.

This team had massive turnover both years , but we wasted a year on other teams old vets who didnt even fit out systems, now we have some youth, but will we play them? and if we do can they play?

I have always said I am willing to lose to get out of mediocrity, but when losing I had better see signs that the TEAM is improving even if we lose I want to see hustle and heart, I want to see young guys making mistakes but learning from them, otherwise we are just the bengals from a few years ago only without a cheap owner.

you know what? ok...fine...another season of frustration and embarrassment. but find out who wants to play and get rid of those who don't.

exactly, and find out who CAN play and who cant. but its hard to eval anyone when our line sucks so badly. and they do.
