Free Agency:

Going to take a break for about an hour. Been at it since early morn. Be back in a while. Hold down the fort.

Winston is reported to be visiting us and the Ravens in the upcoming days. This is one of those pull the trigger whatever it takes situations! We need a RT! It is even more attractive to have a potential RT who has been in this scheme! And to top it off, he not only played in this scheme, he has played for the offensive coordinator!

This is the most important signing in this Free Agency period.

They need to get this done. Winston said on NFL Radio today (paraphrasing here) that he wants to go to a team that could contend in the future and while he is seeking a fair contract, being able to play in a ZBS would be a factor in his decision.

So Reggie Wayne isn't following Peyton after all.

Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter
Reggie Wayne re-signing a three-year deal with Colts. Agreement reached.

Evidently, Manning isn't going to let the Broncos, Cardinals and other suitors off the hook until well after most of the other offensive talent is off the market.

So, no he isn't going to be playing with his wide receivers from Indy in Wayne and Garcon.

Dallas Clark may be the only one that chooses to wait for a deal to stay with Manning.

I am glad we are out of the Manning derby. Imagine if the Redskins were on his list and he was drawing us out all week and the players we signed today we had hesitated on.

We might have ended up with no quarterback and no other impact players on offense either.

Then it would have been Tannehill in the draft and a wing and prayer that Hankerson is healthy enough to start camp and earn a starting job.

Royal being a Royal Pain. Still not a done deal as other teams are jumping into the fray, probably trying to drive up the price.

No VJax. :claps: :sunny: We get Garçon and Morgan instead. I don't know Morgan from a can of paint but Garçon was the guy I was hoping we'd end up with. Wunderbar!! Now if we can snag the Texans' center I'll really be loving life.

Wow, what a roller coaster of a week!

The deal for Royal was announced on CSN.

I sure hope his agent wasn't negotiating after a deal was in place.

RT is a huge hole for us, Signing winston makes it a strength. Guard is also a huge question mark as Lich is coming off injury and really was about average to decent when healthy, Chester is just bad, he flashes decent play but cant block in the run game, signing mathis would give us one very solid Guard who is extremely underrated. if we got both winston and mathis this free agency period would be a win.

The trouble is Chester got a nice contract from us last year vis a vis what his true worth in the market was at the time IMO.

And then there's Jammal Brown. Not only did we trade a #3 pick for Brown but then compounded the mistake by giving him a $9M bonus coming off a year in which he hobbled through half the games he started.

I like the moves at WR and the moves last year on defense.

But so far the Redskins have not been finishing their layups on the offensive line.

When you end the season starting a #7 pick in Maurice Hurt and a street free agent in Tyler Polumbus, it seems obvious that there is a depth issue.

With Miami trading away Brandon Marshall, I gotta believe they are no longer in the hunt for Peyton. I can understand him wanting to do his homework but he's not doing his new team any favors.....unless his go-to guy is already in place. Cards perhaps?

Easily the best offseason for us in the last twenty years!

RG3 to Garçon again......he's open........touchdown!

Well, I think we can draft for interior OL depth with the #3 and/or the two #4 picks in April, but we really need to solidify the RT position as soon as we can.

If there is any chance of signing Winston we need to explore it.

I think Mathis is a luxury item as a left guard.

Jammal Brown has not been able to make it back 100% from the hip surgery going on his third season back now in 2012.

His 2011 season was far from what was expected of a guy working on a 5 year, $27M deal.

We need to get younger at RT and need a guy who is durable.

We might be able to draft some depth with those 6 remaining picks but developing them into real contributors is going to take time.

A guy like Winston can buy us that time.

if we have to cut Moss and/or Cooley to get that done I am in favor of doing it.

Per our favorite whipping boy, JLC:

Carlos Rogers agrees to stay in San Fran for 4yrs, worth a max of $31.3M

I'm going on record. Garçon is the best WR we've had in 20 years.

The rest of FA hardly even matters. We already have our star.

It's almost like Bruce has read this board.

He's about to be the second most popular player in DC.

Josh Wilson is the man! Just sent a note to Fletcher and mentioned when he got a call last year from #59. Wilson said that he is now calling Fletcher because the team needs him.

Gang, if you are on twitter, send some love to London and let him know that we need him.
