Free Agency, Mock Drafts, Camps, Roster Predictions, 2018

If JP Holtz is an effective blocker in the backfield and can also double as a #4 tight end if needed, why would the team want to bring Wellman back?

The added flexibility allows the team to carry one less player and still have a spot of need covered.

Because Wellman is a much better blocker than Holtz from what I've seen.
Which one can be the better TE, remains to be seen.

Rob Kelly is making a statement to remain on the roster. Showing patience, bursting through holes, getting yards after contact, and caught a nice pass out of the backfield for a 12 yards gain.

Edit: I think Rob Kelly did exactly what he needed to do to make this team and solidify the #2 RB spot with Thompson coming out for 3rd down. If he can continue to show the patience, then burst into the hole the way he did tonight, he'll be just fine.

I will post some tweets from late yesterday afternoon and last night. We should start to hear of cuts in a few hours. Hope everyone will have a good Friday.

Yes, he had another fumble last night after this particular tweet, but Samaje has had a good preseason. No need for knee-jerk reactions. Samaje is not going anywhere, but this is an issue to monitor in 2018.

One to watch today and/or tomorrow. Could he crash the roster party?

This is interesting when you consider that Tyler Catalina is likely out for the season.

Still say that Samaje is safe.

Big reason why the Redskins should never return to the district - ever.

I would not be a bit surprised if he unseats Ionnidis at the starting position in the middle before the season is over, not by injury either.

That's not a knock on Matt, I think he has progressed very well, just think we might have the steal of the draft in this guy.

Still would prefer the team acquires a veteran interior OL rather than going with a rookie or former practice squader.

Also, I might look for another back to put behind Peterson and Kelley.

Perine to me is being kept around because he was a #4 pick last year despite showing a penchant for turnovers and not exhibiting the kind of quickness to be effective at this level.
