Fourth Quarter Blues

Good write up. Thanks. Our D has shown up. And when Lattimore gets in there it will even be better. I really see a lack of explosive plays and trying to get some downfield throws in to keep the Defense we are playing against honest. Im not worried about our play tho. We will be in the playoffs and we have this mini bye plus our regular bye in 3 weeks to help us get a little rest and heal up some injuries before a last playoff push where I really hope we start firing on on cylinders so when the playoffs start we are playing our best ball of the season. We have been in every game but we haven't had one game where both Offense and Defense have been the best it could be at the same time. Once that happens it will be really scary!

JD is going thru his rookie slump. He’s probably wearing down a lil bit too….being a rook. And, the league adjusts. His legs have been a non-threat for a minute now and the lack of talent around him is starting to show, exacerbated by JD’s recent accuracy issues. The D is playing way above expected and we should be excited about the build to come. The Eagles are loaded. We shouldn’t have even been close going into the 4th at philthy.
Is Dan Q. Coach of the year??
….and those defenses are top shelf we just played.

We have a mini Bye week. Need the players, especially Daniels and Lattinore to heal. Also need the coaches to get it together. I fear we are seeing the second half slump Kingsbury has become famous for and I don’t like it. Need him to find ways to get players involved early. Also need Jayden to understand the ball has to come out in three seconds or less. Every rookie QB thinks they can wait and find someone. It doesn’t work that way in the NFL. Sometimes it does but you can’t count on it like College ball.
can,t come at a better time.

It's frustrating but expected in our first year

This defense is still not a great defense. I think *some* of what you might be seeing is in-game adjustments finally catching up and the outcomes/results normalizing just a little bit. Think about it, in any of these games, should the Washington defense be holding these offenses in the single-digits (even Chicago's)? Once the scheming and smoke-and-mirrors is figured out by the opposing offensive staff and players, the counter punches come and succeed more frequently.
miracle it is decent.

Maybe it’s Kliff hitting a slump…

Or maybe as a result of a QB who is obviously hurt more than I think he’s letting on, and an ailing O line, and missing our primary RB for a couple of weeks…

Maybe he’s now having to work from a limited playbook to mitigate some of these issues.

It was clear the O line was having trouble blocking yesterday, likely limiting the play calls we could use.

As for Jayden… I wonder if he could throw that Hail Mary pass today? So many of those throws yesterday were looooooow.

Ya, put a McNabb jersey on him, he threw into the dirt so many times.

I think talent wins out in the end and Philly and Pitts just have more talent. Our offense seems to have trouble in the 2nd half against good teams and you can't blame it on the D when they've been on the field for 3 Qtrs holding teams to 7 or less. JD is making the correct reads most of the time, and the WR's are open but he's missing them, that's the difference from what I've seen, and at the same time, the D has stepped up and kept us in these games.
