I don't get it...last year was all about character. This year we seem willing to sign guys who would slug their grandmothers.
 
Well you will get Doughty back and he has oodles of character but he can't cover a tackle eligible.

Of course if we had just kept Doughty and not taken a low risk in Jackson you would have said 'how come the team isn't doing anything to address the safety position?'.

Let's get real. The Redskins got slammed by the cap penalty and that meant adding ONE impact player in free agency in Garcon rather than the THREE or FOUR they were planning to sign.

Raheem Morris suggested him to Shanny. This selfish idiot, if his money isn't already up in smoke, better have a backup plan other than football.
 
And say all the bad you want about Reed Doughty, but the most reliable, productive safety on this team since Shanny got here, was the one guy HE didn't pick.

His safety moves have been, Cerrato-ish, so far.

Dolphins and Redskins are talking about a trade for Anthony Armstrong and Steve Slaton. Update: Looks like this deal will not go through.

Looks like Kevin Barnes will be on the Lions opening day roster. If so, the Redskins get a 2013 6th round pick.

John Beck has made the Houston Texans 53 man roster.
Eagles released O.J. Atogwe.

I was, and remain, fine with keeping Doughty. Better a guy who gives his all but misses a few on the field but never shows up negatively in the news than this. Seriously.
 
FYI...

The appeals process for Jackson is over. His NFL career is probably over too.
 
I think BB was alluding too is that Jackson is looking at a lifetime suspension. This is his third strike, right?

That is correct. He can apply for reinstatement in one year, but the chances of him playing in the NFL are slim to none. He may have a future in the CFL or Arena or some semi-pro team. We should move on from talking about him anyway. More cuts still coming, but we are getting closer to the end of that process.
 
Gotta say, I'm surprised by the Hightower cut most of all...
