OK, but Hightower was essentially the #3 back in Arizona. He came in here and was the de facto #1 due to the fact no other backfield players had NFL experience or could be counted on in pass pro.
This year Hightower is coming in trying to rehab from an ACL. That's a big hurdle. Then you add in the fact Helu and Royster now have NFL experience and a full offseason to work on the nuances like pass pro that the lockout prevented in 2011.
Finally you have the draft pick of a guy like Morris that comes in with the physical ability to be an asset in pass protection and short yardage as well as being a depth player at both TB and FB.
All of this adds up to a challenging camp for Hightower.
I always viewed him as a place-holder, a guy the Redskins acquired to fill the void before a true go-to back was found in the draft or free agency.
