Expiring Contracts.

And you guys thought they didn't make cliff hangers anymore??

BB delivers! :claps:

I wouldn't call those bombshells, but that's just me. Foregone conclusion and mild surprise, yeah....

I don't think I like your tone.

.....,

Jay Gruden on the chopping block?

No.

BBQ FA-Mocks blog has posted in the blog section and will be posted in the SOW forum shortly, then I will post the full blog within it.

Nuclear Bombshell - RGIII forgoes his option, signs a 2 year deal for $2.5M with active roster bonuses...

About the same chance as the Redskins have winning the Super Bowl...

in 2015...

This doesn't sound so crazy to me anymore. I wouldn't completely rule it out, if we can correctly make three assumptions:

1. RG3 progressed mightily away from the cameras last season. That's probable. If our coaching staff could literally take a plumber or construction worker and quickly teach them how to be a QB in Arena football, it's safe to assume that they can certainly take someone of RG3's skills and teach him in one year what might otherwise take two or three.

2. No team is going to offer him a big contract. And until he can prove that he isn't an injury waiting to happen, any team that does offer him a contract better have another capable QB on the roster. If not, that team is taking a big risk. They may resemble Dallas when Romo went down.

3. Scot doesn't find a healthy QB that he prefers in the draft.

In terms of being able to run a team from the pocket, I'd guess that RG3 now resembles a 6th round rookie coming out in the draft this year. The rookies are healthy however. So he'd have to come at a steep discount.

I put the odds of him returning to the roster at 20%. 10% on the above assumptions being correct. And an additional 10% because Dan is infatuated with him.

I've said it before, if handled right, it could work. But everyone has to be in the same boat, paddling in one direction.

Tough to do. But definitely doable.

Though highly unlikely.

I do think the Redskins will at least make some type of offer but it sounds like Robert is looking for a place to have a shot as a starter and he might have a better chance in Houston or the new LA Rams. Those teams would possibly be willing to accept a greater degree of risk than Washington and make a better offer. Not a huge contract but I don't think the Redskins would get into any kind of bidding war.

Maybe a trade but there isn't much value there without some kind of conditional pick thrown in and more than one team would have to be interested enough for them to do so.

This team and Robert would both be better off severing ties. The kid needs a fresh start and we need to rid ourselves of any potential drama.

Regarding the bombshell....The Vinny coming back?!?!

This is exactly what I think as well.

Griffin will be released because the team doesn't want to commit that money to him over any length of time.

He will get better offers for both playing time and money from other teams than the 3rd string money/playing time offer the Redskins will give him.

He needs to go somewhere that he can get a fresh start and a chance to play.

The Redskins need to break free from him as well so they can keep moving in the direction they are going.

It's better for all that he is released.
