I love what Austin is doing for us. He is an absolute monster.

Two bad concussions (the second one knocked out) within a month of each other is enough imo. I hope he retires too.

Yeah, I'm with the majority on this one. I'd let him ride out his contract, but I wouldn't extend. Frankly, I'd also be searching for replacements for everyone in the running back room.

Ekler has always been one of my favorite players in the league, I loved the signing. Although he has played as I expected I am surprised he did enough to get to the Pro Bowl. I've never been a big BRob guy and now he is unplayable IMO. I have always believed they could do better then Brian Robinson a more explosive back would be necessary for them to take the next step.

I hope they give Ekler more carries and would not mind seeing Rodriguez elevated and given opportunities. But 1 more season is all I want from Austin Ekeler, I hope he walks away before it's too late.

I think it’s entirely possible he sees this year as one final hurrah and that is why he came back vs just sitting out the rest of year

i think its obvious the value of tough, fast, shifty RBs as we saw this year. Its also obvious that we dont have one here. Ekler is the closest we got.. but inj history, miles and age says we should replace him sooner rather than later. I would look to draft a fast rb this next draft or at worst the one after. Brob is not the answer either... we need to replace him after next year, he is gone after 25... so i see 26 draft as big RB draft for this team. Too many other holes to fill in the 25 draft.

I don't think AE should be resigned but he is needed for another year. He's perfect for the role he has now. But we need to draft a workhorse back and not in the later rounds. I'd love to have B Rob as our 3rd back but I'm pretty sure we need our 3rd back to play special teams so that probably won't work out.

no resigned to extend Ekeler. He's getting older and has had a decent season but he's nowhere near what he used to be with the Chargers. You can find players like him that are less expensive in the draft.

You need a 3rd down back that can block. B-Rob isn't the best at blocking, but Ekeler is pretty good when needed.

Good points, all. I totally spaced the concussion issue.
