You hated homerism when we 'overpaid' for RG3 and some of us loved it too Brian. All he did was go on to become the rookie of the year and win us a division title in his first season. So while I appreciate some skepticism (I think all Redskins fans have some well-earned skepticism), you haven't always been right in your less than optimistic views either.

El.....we go through this dynamic every year when it comes draft time. There are those who see everything through rose glasses. There are those who look at the Redskin record and see it for what it has been. there are those who sit in the middle.
leaning in your direction brother. I rather like what so many others say around here - a lot: let's see what happens!
yours as an honest post IMO. each person, again my opinion, is entitled to their own vibes.
to those who think we have improved through this draft - you're right.
to those who say it's too early to judge until we actually play the other teams who have also improved - you're right.
the two positions aren't mutually exclusive.

STRENGTHS Good size and enough strength to fend off the jam. Catches outside his frame and adjusts to the ball. Has a wide catching radius and presents a big target.
WEAKNESSES Has very small hands and short arms. Lumbering mover. One-speed route runner with minimal burst and acceleration to separate. Much of his production is schemed -- creates little on his own. Can be phased by traffic (hears footsteps) -- hands are suspect. Struggles sustaining blocks (falls off and is controlled too easily). Tends to play tall and upright. Bench-pressed 225 pounds only 19 times at his pro day.
DRAFT PROJECTION Priority free agent
BOTTOM LINE Could battle for a roster spot as a short-area receiving target. Aligns in the backfield, in the slot and on the line, yet offers little as a blocker.

John Mackey semi-finalist last year. Not much of a blocker - not many TE's coming out of college are. Probably looking at him as an in the Red Zone type is my guess
