If not for the publicity surrounding him, he'd have been an afterthought. No one questions his motor, but he doesn't have the speed for the NFL. Anyone picking him in the second round will be doing so just to get the media brownie points.

Kony Ealy was a first round pick on most of the mocks I saw and he's very good at penetrating the O-Line. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed with either him or Hageman if we don't trade down. And while I'm a big Notre Dame fan, I would take OT before either Nix or Tuitt. Also, not enamored at all with Kouandjio or Moses. I'd rather have Bitonio or Tiny.
If we use that #34 pick, I'd be pretty surprised if we end up with someone not named in this post.

Nah Mike players just want to go there, makes these deals a lot easier to make on the cheap. And Stevie Johnson's days were numbered when Watkins was picked. Johnson has lost a step and isn't worth what Buffalo was going to have to pay him to stay.
But the Bolden trade and now Johnson trade both are at the mercy of the ravens/bills... not the respective players. those guys were steals from other NFL teams... not via free agency. The player wanting to go there doesn't drop the price tag.

Stevie Johnson reminds me of a guy who's value gets inflated because of fantasy football. I'm not blown away by this, in fact, I could see us looking back on this trade in a few years thinking that Buffalo got the better end of this deal.
I don't know. Any team in the league would take an 800-1000 yard receiver in the 3rd round any day of the week

We didn't give up a pick...I'm kind of thinking we got the better deal. I'm pleased by how we look in this comparison myself.

thanks. not stirring the pot...I just remember the big stir the media made and it dawned on me that the whole story just died. would be interesting for media analysts to examine why that is the case sometime downstream. in some respects...this is probably a good thing for Sam.

I hope no one is comparing Johnson to DeSean Jackson in anything but position played in the NFL 
Reed Doughty could run with Stevie Johnson. Jackson is a legitimate TD threat on any catch.
Kouandijo profile and body of work looks great on paper but that knee issue has me remembering what ultimately happened to Malcolm Kelly a bit.
The ESPN article said the doctors were not worried about the next 4-5 years but after that thought the knee would become problematic.
That puts the guy at 26 or 27 when he starts to have major issues?
It's a crapshoot though because Mark Schlereth had similar injury history and was given up on by the Redskins in 1994 only to play another 6 years in the NFL and win 2 Super Bowls with Denver.
