DRAFT DAY (3)

Keep in mind, the knee wasn't injured on the hit itself. His leg hit Ngata on the exact right spot and wrapped around his body. It was a freak injury on a freak play. He could take that same hit 1000 times and jump up 999 times just fine.

He slides, neither knee is capable of flailing around Ngata like that. Coulda gotten injured on the slide, you're right...but his attempt to gain more yads is how that injury occurred. That's just fact!

Well now you're just being unreasonable. He could've gotten injured on the next play. He still could've gotten injured against Seattle. So many ifs, yet you draw a direct connection. Your mind is made up, so I'm not gonna try to reason with you.

Try to reason? You're not reasoning, you're continuing another flawed argument for the sake of arguing.

My whole point for quoting your statement was to point out the flaw...you come with all sorts of other ideas after I displayed the flaw. You still haven't admitted you were wrong. Instead...you're suggesting I am unreasonable. How is that actually trying to "reason"?

well.....I'm onboard. the draft is done. now it's time to make things happen. I think TyPO will make for good depth :)

I don't even think he's good enough to be depth.
I don't know a lot about Compton, since he hasn't played much, but I'm thinkin he's gotta be a better backup RT than Turns-tyler.
Plus didn't we sign at least one FA that can backup RT ?

In other news, all other 31 coaches said virtually the same thing about their draft picks :p

The draft reports pretty much all characterize most of the guys we drafted that way - and they don't characterize all picks with those words. If you have specific doubts, let's hear them...

Or Ngata hits him in the head and he gets another concussion. Or his foot gets caught in the turf and his knee buckles. Or he drops back on the next play and someone hits him low. Etc.

You're the one stuck on that particular argument, I think its irrelevant. You didn't even address one other thing I said, so there's that.

I get that that's a joke, but hearing those words coming from the mouths of legitimate football professionals is still a good thing.

Just as a reminder of how lucky we are to be discussing the merits of players like Morgan Moses and Trent Murphy, here's a long, comprehensive list of players drafted by Vinny Cerrato from 2007-2009 who are still with the team:

1- Rob Jackson

2- Brian Orakpo

3- Repeat the above two names as many times as necessary to convince Dan Snyder to give you just one more year to straighten out the mess left here by Marty Schottenheimer.

So things could be worse. Anybody here not happy that the grownups are in charge of the playground?

I'm fired up, and what a wonderful weekend. I really can't wait for this season to start.

On another note, I have never once wanted the Redskins to be featured on Hard Knocks before. This season, I do. Our HC has already been on it with Cincy, and I have full confidence in his ability to kill any distractions. There are so many different stories that I'd like to see.

I can't wait to hear about our new picks in action at mimicamp. Should be coming up soon, anyone know the date?

I'd pass on Hard Knocks...too much distraction.

Well, we finally have some OL guys who won't be tossed around like tumble-weeds when we face superior teams.

And, our team is getting much, much faster.

Yep. Looks like they are going for an RB(s) that can provide some serious swing time with Alf. Giving the rock to a guy 300 times a year is a good way to get him injured or burned out real quick. Don't know how many guys who have done this for more than three years straight without one of those two things happening, but my guess that is a small list. Don't wanna see RGIII being #2 in carries any more either. Jay ran it like 30 times a game last year, I'd expect something similar.

I wonder if we'll see any two back sets with Morris and Seastrunk on the field at the same time? As much as I hated it when they used it in New York for Dayne/Barber, we now have our own thunder and lightning combination.

When you make a false claim, the rest of your statement is moot…cannot/should not be taken seriously.

Okay then. I made no false claims, only my opinions. You disagree, and that's fine. Don't dismiss everything simply because you disagree, that's how the PA got shut down.

Some folks were dumping on the Grant pick.

While we have a nice top 3 at WR the depth players in 35 year old Santana Moss, Aldrick Robinson and Leonard Hankerson don't exactly fill me with confidence.

I would figure that if Grant is as good a route runner (knock on Hankerson) and catcher (knock on Robinson) as Gruden insists I think he will be on the final roster.

And he's an effective cover guy on teams which Hankerson and Robinson are not.

If any of the remaining three make the squad I think it's moss even just out of leadership and being able to teach the young guys coming in.

Agreed, Moss's crisp routes and ability to find the soft spot on a defense should keep him around, even though he doesn't have top end speed anymore. I'm really curious to see what Gruden does with Hank; theoretically he could stash him on IR for a season if the knee isn't healed. Should be telling what he thinks of him; maybe he thinks Hank can be the taller red zone threat we currently lack, who knows.

Oh good God, no.

I would love them on hardknocks because we'd get to see more of our team.

I'd hate them because I just don't think this franchise does will with distractions. At all. Ever.

I think this team makes a big enough spectacle of itself every year without the aid of reality television.

And I think reality television is awful, that show is awful, and I don't want to watch it or have my team have anything to do with it, ever.
