After being a draft night shocker for most of fans of the B&G - including everyone in the BGO watch party! - Jahan Dotson has come in and struck all the right notes. From the evident hard work on the field during OTAs and Training Camp to the well-spoken, humble, and considered responses in press conferences, Dotson has been about as close to a model first-round draft pick as possible. And yet, questions remain from many considering the players who were available at our original draft position. To that end, I figured tracking him through the season might be fun.
Week 1 vs Jaguars
5 targets, 3 catches, 40 yards, 2 TDs
In his first NFL game, he didn't put a foot wrong (something that CANNOT be said about all his fellow rookie WRs). Of the two misses, Wentz overthrew him on the first one causing Dotson to come down out of bounds and Wentz stared him down on the second leading to the defense jumping the route for an INT. Dotson was open on both plays.
As of this morning, he is now the Vegas favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, moving ahead of Kenny Picket. While there is a lot of football left to be played, I still find it impressive considering my thoughts from Draft Night.
