He threw the ball at Niles Paul's feet, as Paul tried to reach down to catch it, he bobbled it up and over his head directly into the hands of the defensive back. Many were blaming Paul and I guess he bears responsibility for mishandling an extremely poorly thrown ball. That ball doesn't get thrown near his feet, he isn't struggling to make something happen.

It was touched by 2 Bucs, and zero Redskins......initially tipped by a Buc who was nowhere near the intended receiver.
Therefore, that INT is definitely on RG

Yeah - you're right - it was tipped by a Buc. Passes get tipped. INTs happen, just like the one that happened to Colt. Neither of those were gross mistakes by Robert. The point is, it's a team sport. The first INT is absolutely on Niles Paul. The 2nd one a good play by a defender. To hear you tell it, those aren't real factors. Because Griffin 'isn't an NFL QB'.

You guys are talking about 2 different interceptions - and they were entirely different INT's.
The only thing they had in common was that they were both tipped.
But one was tipped by a Redskin, and the other was tipped by a Buc, who was nowhere near the intended receiver.
Therefore the fault lies in 2 different places for each throw

That ball hit him in the hands. We aren't talking about whether or not it was a good throw. We're talking about the fact that it's not Griffin's ****ing fault that Niles doesn't have the good sense not to pop the damn thing straight up in the air and beg a Buc's defender to grab it. I'm not hating on Paul, but Jesus Christ let's have a little balance in the criticism if we are going to gut players. It is a team sport guys. You win as a team and you lose as a team. That really is how it works.

You're never supposed to tip the ball in the air on offense and Paul did just that.

The second one was hard to tell. I can see how Reed was past where the ball was caught and Griff could have stared him down. Or it was a speed slant route and he was all out before the LB made a great play on the ball.

Yeah the first on was a shoe lace throw (poor) and the second looked behind Garcon but hey it did get tipped. (just watched it again) In any case to completely absolve Griffin of any responsibility is kind at best.

Mccoy is not going to be the future. He just isnt. No coach since Cleveland has thought he could or would be so it shouldn't start here.

Like I said, the conclusion in my earlier post is not based on one play, or even a few. But rather a myriad of seemingly small things, which accumulate to that same dreadful outcome
If you add 5+5+5+5, you get 20 (someone like Cousins)
But if you add 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 (RG), you still get 20 - however the difference is that one of them does not have the appearance of being as blatantly bad as the other.

Neither of those were gross mistakes by Robert.

It was a gross mistake because it resulted in 7 points, and a huge change in momentum.
When you're backed up to your own goal line, you have to be twice as prudent, so things like that don't happen.
And prudent judgment is an area that he is lacking greatly

I agree.
The season is basically shot now, so we might as well give RG3 the remainder of games to see if he can redeem himself.
All I'm sayin is we need to call it like it is - RG3 is playing poorly - and not sugar-coat it, make excuses, or shift the blame on that issue.

And if he stinks it up the rest of the year, I'm all for creating an open competition for the #1 spot next year, no matter who the #2 is.

McCoy is not an NFL starting QB. Our future QB is either Griff or not on the roster. That's it, that's the list. Just stop with the McCoy crap. You discredit yourself by bringing him up as a viable starting option.

Not saying it's ideal, but that is a common spot for many QBs to throw to. Exactly for the reason of avoiding a popup pick.

I never said McCoy should be the starter.
I just used him as a comparison, to show how poorly RG is playing.
It's very likely that neither of them are starter quality.

Did Griff have any intermediate passes that were caught yesterday? The kind that go for twelve to eighteen yards and the receiver may pick up some extra yardage or tackled at the point of reception? I'm not talking about screens as the one we saw before the end of the first half. Talking about the intermediate routes.

Any? I can't recall a single intermediate pass that was caught.

Drew Brees wasn't a starting caliber QB the year before they drafted Philip Rivers. That kinda proves all your points for Griffin and McCoy. Haha.

I'm not advocating benching Griffin for McCoy or Cousins for that matter.... I am completely in favor of letting him ride it out this year. I guess where the disconnect is for me is putting any hope in him next year. I'm over it. Because of the investment I see the dollars and cents pointing to giving him a couple of linemen and letting it ride again next year. I'm just being honest and up front and telling everyone out loud I have zero confidence in him turning any corners. I don't believe in him and don't see the value in wasting another year to find out what I feel like I already know.

I've put all into a myriad of players that didn't pan out. I just feel like this is one of them.
