how do you decide what is low and what is high for sexual harassment? That is a really weird statement to make.
you ask cheerleaders to "show people a good time" ask them to pose topless for shoots, and then the 15 cases. You call that low?
If you said something like that in a work environment you would probably be terminated. In the least you would be written up and forced to take courses regarding it.
You're skewing the context of what I said. I don't think you're doing it to incite anything, but your response doesn't really fit with what I actually said. The cheerleading scandal wasn't part of this story, so responding with that has no correlation to my response in regards to this story. Which is the main point of my comment - not that the behavior isn't awful, because it is, just that the hype didn't match the story.
You responded like I implied this was no big deal, and I absolutely didn't say that. It's disgusting behavior, and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves, publicly chastised, and lose their career over it. I can't be any more clear about that, it's disgusting and appalling behavior, and it's inexcusable.
My statement wasn't downplaying what happened. It was downplaying the upsell by the Washington Post. Asking a woman to dress sexier to attract more money from clients such as investors, sponsors, etc. is not ok. However, it isn't in the realm of Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, or Bill Cosby behavior. People acting like it is, well that's just weird. They're both horrible, but one is clearly way more severe than the other. Also, nobody said they were propositioned, nobody said they were offered more for doing certain things, and that's why I said this is the lowest form of sexual harassment. They were asked to dress sexier. They weren't told hey, you have great tits, you should probably show them off, and expose some areola if you could. Or hey honey, let that ass hang out the bottom of your skirt and jiggle it every chance you get.
When I was a corrections officer I was a state employee, and we had rigorous training on this issue. A coworker did this all the time, and we all gave him hell for it. It name was harry, so we all knew him as Dirty Harry. Eventually he was given a talking to and had to take a 4 hour sensitivity course. Maybe these slaps on the wrist for such behavior are a huge part of the problem. But to call this biblical, earth shattering, shield splitting, etc is a reach. A massive reach. Unless a lot more comes out, this will not remove Snyder, we could only dream. It also won't bring down the NFL, like a few reporters claimed was possible leading up to the big reveal.
