Time flies. I remember both Blough and Etling in college and it feels like just yesterday even though its been about 10 years.

Well in the words of Ricky Bobby. If you ain't first you're last. So in todays media circus "expected to be" is just as good as confirmed for the click bait.

I'll wait to judge Blough himself on his performance as offensive coordinator. I don't particularly care what someone says, good or bad, about him in other roles.

I'm sure he will wind up being great - I just hope it doesn't take awhile.

Same here KDawg and I think alot of his success will depend on how aggressive the team is during FA this year. I hope we go into this year with the idea of getting younger and get players that Blough is happy with.

I think our running back position is in a pretty meh state. We have three guys who are not bad backs, but none are all around game changers that defenses will ever really care about.

Bill can hit a home run. I like him: let’s keep him.

I think we actually need two backs and Bill should only touch the ball ~5x a game until he can develop as a pass blocker and receiver and he hits the designated holes.

Our running back situation is one of the worst in the league and our run game was able to find success because of KK’s scheme with the running quarterback and teams needing to defend the pass (despite having no receivers of note).

I don’t dislike any of our backs. But all three are fringe 2s or 3s in the NFL.

Bill has development potential, but I’m not willing to stake our season on it and I’m certainly not willing to do so if I’m Quinn and I hired an OC with no real experience.
Obviously we don't exactly have Bijan Robinson but I also think that Kliff was one of thee most basic run game callers in the league last year. We had the most basic and obvious run plays. For like an 8 game stretch he basically just ran it straight up the gut on nearly every play. I think our backs and Bill especially, have some big season potential in a better system.

Curious whether Commanders go after Dwayne Ledford now that Bill Callahan is going to Atlanta under Stefanski as their OL coach.

Ledford is not a former Quinn assistant. They did not overlap in Atlanta and have not been on the same staff anywhere. He was a player on the 49ers when Quinn was DL coach but that's it.

RWJ and Dah-Dee, this is a Blough thread.

However your content was really good, so I went looking for a thread on OL and other coaching staff hires. I didn't find one so I started a coaching staff vacancies thread, and specific OL. I put the tweets you posted in that thread and credited you for them.

Please let's keep this thread to Blough.

Or can we just make this about the offensive staff overall? I am not sure there is too much to rehash with Blough right now

With the title change, let me just ask who are our current offensive coaches and positions need to be filled? More, do we think we are waiting to replace some coaches still on the staff based on how the playoffs shake out or do you think we stick with what we have and plug in the current holes?

Actually, I think I can answer my own question:

OC David Blough
WR Bobby Engram
Offensive Pass Game Coordinator Brian Johnson
Offensive Run Game Coordinator Anthony Lynn
TE David Riah

What happened to Welker? Didn't just hire him to work with the wide receivers?
